Stallions 2014

Contents pages 4 to 9 pages 10 to 15 pages 16 to 23

November 2013 Dear Fellow Breeder A year is a long time in racing and in 2013 we certainly missed the brilliance of Frankel. However, the excellence of the Fabulous Frankel generation was still very much on display with major international Gr.1 wins from horses like Al Kazeem, Farhh, Fiorente, Maxios, Reliable Man, etc. Of that great generation, our own Nathaniel ranks as the second best. A World Champion in his own right over 9-13f. A brilliant winner of the Gr.1 King George at three and an impressive winner over Farhh on his four-year-old debut in the Gr.1 Coral-Eclipse; he was rated higher at both three and four than all of his contemporaries, bar Frankel. Unsurprisingly, Nathaniel was supported with a spectacular first book of mares in 2013. He covered 148 mares in his first season at stud, including 120 Group or Stakes winners/performers and the dams of 190 Group or Stakes winners/performers. He is guaranteed strong support over the years to come thanks to the stellar list of shareholders who make up his syndicate. I encourage you to come and see this beautifully bred son of Galileo, who has let down into the most magnificent horse. The anticipation for Equiano s first two-year-old runners next year has been heightened by the quality of his first crop of yearlings, who sold extremely well this autumn. With high prices of 170,000gns and an average of over 40,000, his yearlings were in strong demand and he will have runners from all of the leading two-year-old stables in 2014. As one leading bloodstock agent put it, They look exactly like it says on the tin: Sharp, racy, sprinting types. Equiano must be a good bet for leading first-season sire honours. Mount Nelson has proved himself a model of consistency as a leading first and second-season sire and has produced two of the best two-year-olds in Britain from successive crops with first Purr Along and then the impressive Berkshire. Berkshire looks set for great things in 2014 having won the Chesham Stakes brilliantly at Royal Ascot, before winning the Gr.2 Royal Lodge Stakes on his only subsequent start. Against the tide of rising nomination fees, all three of our stallions remain unchanged for 2014 and offer tremendous value. We look forward to being of service to you. Yours sincerely Julian Dollar, General Manager m + 44 (0) 7703 180016 3
