SITE: FACILITY: Southeast Polk High School 7945 Northeast University Avenue Pleasant Hill, IA 50327 A map of the high school and location of parking and pool can be found at www.dowlingcatholicriptide.org under Ride the Wave tab The pool is indoor, 25 yards with 8 lanes. Water Depth: The pool has a depth at the start end of 12 ft 6 in. depth of pool at turn end is 4 ft. The timing system is a Daktronics 2000 with Colorado and Daktronics touch pads. A minimum of one watch button and one backup button will be used. The competition course has been certified in accordance with Rule 104.2.2C(4) of USA Swimming Rules and Regulations. A copy of such certification is on file with USA Swimming. Spectator bleachers run the length of one side of the pool. A crash gym will be provided for swimmers. Swimmers are not allowed to crash in spectator bleachers. Page 1 of 11

COACHES: WARM-UPS: Only currently registered USA Swimming coach members will be permitted on deck in designated areas. Each coach must sign the Coaches Meet Sign-In (APP-29) at the timing table and present a current USA Swimming coach membership card to the Meet Referee or his designee to verify that all certifications are current and on file. Coaches shall wear their coach membership cards at all times so that they are clearly visible to swimmers and meet personnel at all times. Displaying coach certifications on Deck Pass is not acceptable. The ISI mandatory warm-up procedure will be followed in accordance with Section J.XI of the ISI Code Book. All swimmers are to carefully enter the pool using feet first, three point entry. The pool will be cleared no later than 10 minutes prior to competition. All swimmers must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm-up, competition and warm-down. Any swimmer without a coach shall report to the Meet Referee prior to his or her warm-up. The Meet Referee will assist the swimmer in making arrangements for such supervision, but it is the swimmer s responsibility to ensure such arrangements are made prior to the start of the meet. RACING STARTS: All swimmers entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. ENTRY REQUIREMENT: 1. Swimmers must be currently registered as athlete members of USA Swimming to compete. No USA Swimming registrations will be accepted on site. Proof of USA Swimming membership must be verified 24 hours prior to the start of the meet. 2. Swimmers must enter in the age group events corresponding to the swimmer s age as of November 13th. 3. Entry Limits: a. Session 1: No more than two events b. All other sessions: No more than four individual events and one relay event per session. No more than five individual events per day. 4. Seed times must be submitted for a 25 yard course. A swimmer's seed time can be no faster than the best time the swimmer has achieved in an event swum in the same length pool as this meet. Converted times are not allowed. No Time entries will be accepted. 4-HOUR RULE: Pursuant to Rule 205.3.1F of USA Swimming Rules and Regulations, the program in all age-group competitions shall be planned to allow the events for swimmers 12 years and younger to be completed in four hours or less. Relays may be eliminated if timeline exceeds four hours. ENTRY SUBMISSION: Entry fees are: 1. Individual entry fee: $ 5.00 per swimmer 2. Relays: $ 12.00 per relay. 3. ISI swimmer surcharge: $3.00 per swimmer. 4. Manual entries (for teams entering more than five swimmers): $2.00 per swimmer. Page 2 of 11

Electronic entries must be submitted in a format compatible with HY-TEK Meet Manager software. All other entries require manual input and must be submitted on the ISI Meet Entry Form (APP-7). Submit entries along with the appropriate ISI Financial Sheet (APP-8.x). If submitting electronic entries, also send a hardcopy of the entries with the entry fees and financial sheet. Payment shall be by check or money order made payable to Riptide Swim Club. All entry fees, including ISI swimmer surcharge fee, should be combined on one check. The host club reserves the right to require payment by money order or cashier s check. Entry fees are nonrefundable; ISI swimmer surcharge fees will be refunded only if the entire meet is cancelled. Johnston, Iowa 50131 ENTRY DATES AND DEADLINES: LATE ENTRIES: Entries will be accepted from ISI teams beginning on October 6th at 8:00 a.m. All other entries will be accepted beginning on October 13th at 8:00 a.m. Manual entries must be received no later than November 3rd. Electronic entries must be received no later than Friday, November 6th at 12:00 p.m. Updated times from existing entries will be accepted until Monday, November 9th at 12:00 p.m. Entries will not be accepted by phone or fax. Late entries will be accepted prior to the start of warm-ups for each session. If the meet program has not been printed, swimmers shall be seeded into the meet, but will still be charged the late entry fee. A late entry at the time of warm ups will require a cash only payment of late fees. After November 9th no additional heats will be added. Late entries will only be accepted if there are open lanes in the previously seeded heats. Late entry fees: 1. Individual events: $10.00 per event. 2. Relays: $24.00 per relay. SWIMMERS WITH DISABILITIES: SEND ENTRIES TO: Swimmers with disabilities are encouraged to compete. The Information Form for Adapted Competitive Swimmers (APP-21) indicating limitations and requested modifications should be completed and attached to the meet entries. Modifications will be determined by the Meet Referee. The swimmer (or swimmer s coach) is responsible for providing any equipment or assistants required. A meet committee consisting of the Meet Director, Meet Referee, a Coach Representative, an Athlete Representative, and a certified official acting at large will be established in accordance with Section J.X of the ISI Code Book. The committee shall serve as the meet jury to consider any administrative protests filed at the meet. Protests against judgment decisions can only be considered by the Meet Referee and the Meet Referee s decision is final. The committee shall act as a board of review in the case of an emergency hearing. 1. The 400 IM, 10&under 500 Free, 1000 Free events and 1650 Free will swim as a combined, mixed girls/boys event. The results will be separated for results and awards. 2. Events will be pre-seeded fastest to slowest, except the 1000 and 1650 Free events which will be deck seeded, fastest to slowest, following positive check in. 3. The 1000 and 1650 Free event entries will be limited to the 16 fastest girls and 16 fastest boys. In the event that less than 16 of either gender enter either the 1000 or 1650 Free the empty spaces may be filled with the opposite gender. Additional entries will be notified and asked to remain as an alternate. Page 4 of 11

a. Friday night 11/12 and Open 1000 Free events: The positive check-in deadline is 5:20 p.m. Friday, November 13th. b. Sunday afternoon, 1650 Free: The positive check-in deadline is 20 minutes after the start of warm-ups, Sunday afternoon. c. Swimmers who fail to complete the positive check in for the 1000 Free and 1650 Free will only be allowed to compete providing available space after seeding of alternates who completed positive check-in. d. Additional heats of the 1000 and 1650 Free may be added at the discretion of the Meet Referee and if the session remains within the four-hour time limit. e. Alternates will be notified as soon as possible. Alternates may elect to switch events with no penalty. f. Alternates who elect to remain as an alternate but are unable to swim after completion of positive check in may choose another event provided: i. There are open lanes available; and ii. An additional entry does not exceed the swimmer s entry limit 4. Swimmers in all events shall report directly to the starting blocks. Swimmers will NOT be checked in by a Clerk of Course. 5. Events may be combined to facilitate meet operation and separated later for results. 6. Relay cards will be distributed at the coach s meeting. 7. Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited. Any swimmer observed changing into or out of a swim suit, partially or fully, may be disqualified at the discretion of the Meet Referee. 8. Note that the host is not responsible for providing rest for swimmers between events. If a swimmer has less than 10 minutes between swims, the swimmer (or swimmer s coach) should inform the Meet Referee. SCORING: AWARDS: SCRATCHES: USA SWIMMING REGISTRATION: CAMERAS: No scores will be tallied. Ribbons will be awarded to the top 8 swimmers in each event. For mixed gender events, the top 8 girls and top 8 boys will be awarded ribbons. The ISI scratch rule is in effect. See Section J.XII of the ISI Code Book. USA Swimming registrations will NOT be accepted at the meet. Any athlete whose registration and fee has not be received by ISI at least 24 hours before the start of competition will be scratched from the meet and will NOT be permitted to compete. USE OF AUDIO OR VISUAL RECORDING DEVICES, INCLUDING CELL PHONES, IS NOT PERMITTED AT ANY TIME IN CHANGING AREAS, RESTROOMS, OR LOCKER ROOMS. Use of flash photography during the start of each race is prohibited. Flash photography at the start of a race may interfere with a swimmer s ability to recognize the Starter flash. NO TOBACCO OR ALCOHOL: The use of any tobacco products or alcohol is not permitted within the swimming venue. Page 5 of 11

IMAGE RELEASE: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Participants consent to be photographed/filmed by any authorized photographer(s) and/or network(s) of ISI and/or the host club under conditions determined by the host club, and authorize the use of names, pictures, likenesses, and biographical information before, during or after the event to promote swimming. No awards received in this competition may be used for trade or financial gain. Programs: Each team will receive one copy of the program. Additional programs will be available for $10.00 at the meet. Results: Electronic results will be provided to all ISI teams and any non-isi team participating in the meet. Final Results will be posted on the ISI website. A hardcopy of the final results may be requested on the ISI Financial Sheet for an additional $5.00. Swim apparel/merchandise: Splash Multisport will be on hand at all sessions. INDEMNITY: -------------------- In granting the sanction for this meet, it is understood and agreed that USA Swimming and ISI shall be free and held harmless from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event.
