8.2 AAP Pool 8.2.1 The AAP Pool will consist of all athletes eligible for consideration for the CAPP program except for athletes nominated by the Head Coach or Performance Lead nominations for the Talent Confirmation Pool. 8.2.2 An athlete must be in the AAP Pool in order to be carded, but being in the AAP Pool does not guarantee a card. 8.2.3 It is expected that CAPP athletes will form the bulk of Athletics Canada s (AC s) nominations for AAP each year, but being a CAPP athlete does not guarantee an AAP card and an athlete can be offered an AAP card without being offered membership of CAPP. http://athletics.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/capp-eligibility-list-lympic-3.pdf 8.3 Card types and tiers 8.3.2 The types of AAP cards are tiered as follows: Type Tier Senior International SR1 Automatically awarded the first year of Senior International carding SR2 Automatically awarded the second year of Senior International carding National SR Awarded for subsequent years after a C1, SR1 or SR2 card C1 Awarded for first year of Senior National carding Development D Awarded after receiving a Discretionary Development nomination by AC 8.3.5 There are also special card statuses that can be assigned to injured, ill or pregnant athletes (Health Card status) and for athletes at overseas academic institutions (generically called NCAA Card status even if the athlete is not on an NCAA scholarship at an USA college). 8.8 Nomination Order 8.8.1 athletes and Athletes will be considered separately. 8.8.2 Athletes will be considered in steps as follows : Step Athletes in step Ranking Target 1 Eligible for Automatic Selection to the Average World CAPP Podium program Average World Top 8 Top 8 & top half 2 Eligible for for the (Podium ) CAPP Podium program 3 Eligible for Automatic Selection to the 4 Eligible for for the 5 Eligible for Automatic Selection to the Average World Top 16 90% of the Podium Page 2 November 5, 2018
