Boat Manual Name Blew M'en Fous Make 1997 Beneteau Documentation No. 1061866 Length 35'-09" Beam 12'-09" 1 Code Draft 5'-09" Use this information along with the Discrepancy Report and the Basic Course Syllabus Engine Yanmar 3GM30F - 3 Cylinder Diesel Location/Access Engine Cockpit Control Panel Battery Switches Never turn any battery switch off while engine is running! Engine Hour Meter Fuel Gauge Ignition/Start Under companionway steps. Engine control panel on port, aft cockpit combing. Aft cabin under companionway steps. Three handles: Vertical is the ON position. Please turn battery STARTER switch OFF at the end of your charter. Port, aft of engine control panel above fuel gauge. Port, aft of engine control panel below engine hour meter. Small round silver key switch on Control Panel with black rubber start button. Glow Plug No Glow Plug. Yanmar engine. Throttle/Shift Single Lever Control Engine Starting Warning! Never turn the battery switch to OFF while the engine is running! Stop Engine Dipstick Check oil only if necessary. Single handle on the starboard side of the helm pedestal; forward for forward, middle for neutral, and back for reverse; further forward or reverse as needed for throttle. To disengage the transmission, push in red button at the base of the shift lever so the throttle can be advanced without going into gear. This can only be done in neutral. To re-engage the transmission, bring the handle to neutral and the red button will pop out. Before dropping dock lines run through shifting and throttle advance until you understand this and are comfortable. 1. Deactivate and disconnect shore power.. Turn all battery switches to ON (if not already). 2. Make sure transmission is disengaged, throttle 25% (push in red button and move throttle slightly past 45º), ignition on, engine stop handle in completely. 3. Turn round silver ignition key to right. 4. Push and hold black start button until engine starts. If engine does not start within 5 sec., recheck that steps 2 thru 4 were performed exactly and retry. 5. Check the engine exhaust at the bottom of the transom to see that water is being exhausted out. Warm up for 15 Minutes. 6. Before dropping dock lines run through shifting and throttle advance until comfortable. Black handle above tachometer, port; pull out to stop engine. After engine has stopped, push Black handle back in, turn key to off position and remove to a safe location. Starboard side of engine, low under air intake. Access through panel in starboard aft head.

Electrical Panel Electrical Located above navigation table, starboard with breaker switches labeled for each system. AC Main Switches: Located on the Electrical Panel above the navigation station table starboard. 2 Battery Switch Never turn any battery switch off while engine is running! Aft cabin under companionway steps. Three handles: Vertical is the ON position. Please turn battery STARTER switch OFF at the end of your charter. Battery Charging Both batteries require 2 to 4 hours to recharge when charge levels are low. Monitor battery levels frequently! (SEE: Monitoring Batteries ) There are 2 methods for charging the batteries on board. Shore Power: 1. Plug in Shore Power cord at the receptacle on the starboard side of the aft cockpit. Make sure it s plugged in and the AC breaker switch is ON at the Dock Box. 2. On the AC power panel: toggle on the AC MAIN. 3. Toggle on the Battery Charger breaker and the Battery Charger breakers. Red lights next to these breakers should be lit. Charging Batteries with Engine: 4. Turn Battery Switches ON and start the engine with the transmission disengaged. 5. Adjust the Throttle lever until the tachometer is between 1500 and 1800 rpm. After batteries are charged and engine is off, turn Engine Start switch OFF (for boats having both engine and house batteries). Monitoring Batteries Monitor battery levels frequently when using 12 volt services! Method for Monitoring Battery Level: NOTE: It is NOT necessary for battery switches to be ON to monitor batteries. Digital monitoring panel Heart Interface Link 20 located above AC electrical control panel shows charge level, amp draw, etc. Battery Location Pedestal Cluster Instruments 3 House batteries under aft bunk. 1 Engine/Start battery under companionway steps. To activate the pedestal cluster instruments: 1. Turn on the House Batteries switch. 2. On the electrical control panel toggle on the VHF, RADAR & INSTRUM breaker. 3. Turn on each instrument at the helm (see Depth and Wind Instruments on page 3.

Autohelm Electronics Located in the cockpit starboard. To Use: 1. In Main Cabin: Turn INSTRUM switch to ON position at the control panel. 2. In Cockpit: Push STANDBY at Autohelm control panel, come to course and push AUTO. 3. Minor Course Corrections: Press +/- 1 degree or +/- 10 degree button. 3 GPS Chart Plotter Radar Located at the helm. To Use: 1. In Main Cabin: Turn RADAR switch to ON position at the control panel. 2. Push red button to turn on, allow time to sync (approx. 30 secs), use Page to page thru various displays. Depth and Wind Instruments Located in the cockpit starboard. To Use: 1. In Main Cabin: Turn INSTRUM switch to ON position at the control panel. 2. Depth Gauge will read CODELOCK 3. Press ALARM then press OFFSET - repeat 4 times 4. Then press ALARM 2 times. Both Depth and Wind Instruments will now work. Jib Do not release the jib halyard except in cases of emergency! Always leave furling line cleated when sail is rolled up. Main Sails Mounted on a roller furling. The take up line leads aft along the port rail to port side clutches outside the companionway hatch. The halyard leads aft through a lock on the Port side of the companionway. Main halyard and main sheet lead aft to the Starboard side of the companionway. Water Tanks Total Capacity: 80 Gallons Tankage Tank 1 Tank located under the port settee. Fill fitting located outside the cockpit (Starboard, well aft). Capacity: 40 Gallons Tank 2 Tank located under the starboard settee. Fill Fitting located on the Starboard deck just forward of the mast. Capacity: 40 Gallons Fuel Tank Do not leave fuel filler nozzle unattended when fueling! Location: Under aft bed. Fuel Fill Fitting: Located outside the cockpit aft, starboard. Capacity: 24 gallons

Holding Tank Report on discrepancy report that zip-tie has been cut. Staff will install new tie. Tankage Continued Capacity: 15 Gallons Location: Starboard lazarette. Pump-out Cap Location: On the starboard, aft outboard. Holding tank is not able to be emptied at sea. Harbor pump out: Fitting located on starboard deck next to cockpit. 4 Operation Nothing goes in the bowl that has not been consumed first except marine toilet paper! Head Make sure Head Intake valve is open. The valve is open if the handle is perpendicular to the hull. To Put Head on Holding Tank: Set Y-valve s gray handle next to head horizontal. To Operate Head: 1. On the right side of the bowl is the pump and handle. 2. On the front of the pump is a selector valve with Dry & Flush on its face. 3. Pump the handle to wet the bowl. 4. After use, pump the handle 8 to 10 to empty the bowl. 5. When bowl is empty, turn the selector to the Dry position and pump handle until the bowl is dry. To Put Head on Overboard: Set Y-valve s gray handle next to head vertical to open overboard thru-hull. Return valve to holding tank position when finished. Stove Galley Sink Head Sink Bilge Pump Shower Sump Pump Hot Water Heater Windlass Stereo General Notes LPG (Propane), Tank and valves located in port aft lazarette. Open valve on tank and turn on GAS VALVE breaker on electrical panel. Outlet through hull is under cabinet Outlet through hull is inside the Head. Manual Bilge Pump: Located next to helm. Automatic Bilge Pump: Switch is located on the Electrical Control Panel. Switch located in head under mirror forward. Only works when water pump DC switch is on at the electrical panel. AC operational only, shore Power must be hooked up. Breaker switch on AC panel. Capacity: 6 gallons. Located in bow anchor locker. Breaker switch located above and aft of stove. Located forward of nav station, on starboard bulkhead. Adjustable Backstay Pump handle to tighten (upwind), RED LINE IS MAX! Turn knob at base of handle to release (downwind) and at dock.
