What We Offer Over the last 5 seasons we have seen the junior area increase by 150%. That increase has been founded on some hard work in promoting the message that we offer an environment where kids can come and most importantly, have fun whilst participating in; a variety of physical activities learning some new life skills sharing healthy competition where fairness and sportsmanship are still central themes making new (and possibly life long) friends
Your Age Group Managers Age Group Managers have one of the most important roles in surf life saving. They are responsible for caring for and nurturing the future Australian surf lifesavers. They are responsible for: The care, safety, wellbeing and development of junior lifesavers Facilitating and development of surf life saving skills Delivery of a learning program the encourages and develops young surf lifesavers Remember they are volunteers we all are! From here, members are asked to perform voluntary beach patrols utilising skills learnt during their junior years. The reward for those who continue on to the senior ranks is considerable. In return for a members patrolling service, the club offers a range of facilities and services such as comprehensive coaching programs, a large array of Life Saving awards and competition opportunities. Juniors initially enter into the Under 15 age category and will undergo the Bronze Medallion qualification. Other qualifications include: Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate (ART) Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) Level II First Aid Certificate Spinal Management Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) Crew Certificate Silver Medallion Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) Certificate All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Operators Radio Operator s Certificate
