The regular-season conference title is the first for the Red Wolves since a 2011 West Division crown and the first outright championship since 1998. The undefeated run through conference play is the first time since 1996 A-State has accomplished that feat. A-State has the longest winning streak in the nation at 21 matches. The 16-0 record in SBC play is the best for an Arkansas State team ever after having five squads from 1992-1996 go 9-0 in the Sun Belt Conference. The 16-0 mark in a conference season ties the best since the 1980 season when that team went 16-0 in the Arkansas Women s Intercollegiate Sports Association. The team clinched an 8-0 record at home with the win over the Apps Nov. 12. It is the first time an A-State team has gone undefeated at home since the 2004 season (14-0). A-State s Mallory Warrington claimed her fourth Sun Belt Conference Setter of the Week award after dishing out 37 assists in the 3-0 win versus App State Nov. 12. Arkansas State remained at No. 19 in the PrepVolleyball.com Poll, received 91 points in the AVCA Poll to rank what would be 28th, just 27 points behind No. 25 Texas A&M. The team moved to No. 18 in the latest RPI rankings. A-State holds a 976-498-5 record all-time in volleyball and is in its 41st season of play after beginning the sport in 1975.

Arkansas State holds a 4-1 advantage all time against Georgia Southern, with all five meetings occurring during the 2013 season or later. The first meeting was in the 2013 Magnolia Invitational in Ox- ford, Miss., in a nonconference contest with the Eagles claiming their only win of the series by a score of 3-1. Georgia Southern finished the season 28-6 and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament. The two teams are now conference foes and A-State has earned four straight victories over the Eagles with 3-1 wins in both meetings during the 2014 season. A-State claimed 3-0 sweeps in the two matchups this season with the latest coming on Oct. 30 at the Convocation Center. A-State head coach David Rehr is 4-1 against Georgia South- ern as all five meetings between the two schools have come with him as head coach. Friday s match will be the first time the two schools have faced each other in the conference tournament. A-State Sets Attendance Record at Senior Night Last Thursday s attendance at the Convocation Center for the match against Appalachian State was 2,517, which was the most all-time for a volleyball-only match in school history. The previous record was 1,104 against Memphis on Nov. 7, 1990. The all-time attendance record for an A-State volleyball match is 4,140 on Nov. 25, 1995 against Memphis as part of a doubleheader with men s basketball. Before the match, A-State honored seniors Hannah Robey and Kariana Castanon-Hill along with senior managers Danielle Daniels, Brennon Gurley, and Katherine James. Robey is fourth on the team with 199 digs and third with 17 service aces, while Castanon-Hill has 82 kills and 38 blocks. A-State in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament Arkansas State currently holds a 25-20 record in the SBC Tournament all time with five tournament championships in 1991, 1992, 1994, 1995, and 1999. The team went 22-7 from 1991-2000 before going 0-10 from 2001 to 2011 and didn t make an appearance in the 2002 tournament. Coach Rehr is 3-3 in the conference tournament since coming to A-State with the win in 2012 snapping an 11-year drought without a win in the SBC Tournament. The team has won at least one match in the conference tournament in three straight seasons, the first time that feat has been accomplished since 1998-2000. ASTATEREDWOLVES.COM
