THE AWARDS ARE TO FURTHER THEIR JUDO TRAINING IN LIEU OF TROPHIES. IN ORDER NOT TO JEOPARDIZE THE AMATEUR STATUS OF ANY COMPETITOR, RECEIPTS FOR TRAINING WILL BE REQUIRED FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF TRAINING INCENTIVE AWARDS. ACCEPTABLE RECEIPTS FOR TRAINING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: COPIES OF RECEIPTS FOR AIRLINE TRAVEL TO TOURNAMENTS, HOTEL RECEIPTS FOR OUT OF TOWN TOURNAMENTS, CANCELLED CHECKS FROM TOURNAMENT ENTRY FEES, RECEIPTS FROM TRAINING CAMP FEES, ETC. All contestants must present their current membership card and show proof of insurance, at the time of registration. If a contestant is unable to present a current valid membership card, he or she will be required to purchase a membership from one of the three organizations at the tournament site. Responsibility for reimbursement of membership fees for those who have previously registered remains that of the individual. All contestants must be familiar with the sport of Judo and the rules in connection therewith and have sufficient ability to safely compete in this tournament. Contestants, their parents (in the case of minor contestants), and their instructors have responsibility of ensuring that the contestants meet this requirement. CATEGORIES: A computer program will be used to form pools. Junior divisions will be formed by gender, age, similar weight and rank. Intermediate divisions will be formed by gender, similar weight, age and rank. Senior divisions will be formed by gender, rank and weight. Every effort will be made to separate contestants from the same club and to provide competitors with the maximum number of matches with opponents of roughly the same age, weight and ability, although this will not be possible in all cases. The tournament officials reserve the right to change the priorities in making pools to ensure fair and safe pools for the contestants. Instructors, coaches and parents are also requested to check pools when called to ensure the safety of their students. If a participant decides not to compete after registration but before actual competition, their entry will be withdrawn and the entry fee refunded.
