The JAC had a tremendous showing this week, attending 5 different meets around the Jacksonville area. Highlights include Brittany Bowald (Atlantic Coast) triple jumping 37'5" from a short run at Sandalwood, then following that up by winning 3 events (LJ, TJ, and 4x1) at the Flagler Palm Coast meet, earning her the female MVP award from the meet. This keeps that award in the JAC family as Frannie Rice (Bolles) won the award last year! Speaking of Frannie, she vaulted a PR of 11'3" at the Flagler meet, to improve upon her school record. Hannah Pataky (Bolles) improved her 400m PR by over a second, to finish 7th overall. Newcomer Anastasia Demico (AC) got 3rd in the

long jump in only her 2nd ever meet! Nick Dulko (Ponte Vedra) finished 8th in the discus with a great season opening throw. Cody Rose (Bishop Kenny) won the long jump at the Mandarin meet, and BK teammate David Bell won the high jump and tied for the win the vault. Also, Ginni Cormier (Christ's Church Academy) got 2nd in the high jump and 4th in the long jump at the Sandalwood meet. Finally, Cory Dyer (Oakleaf) jumped 6'6" in the high jump during the Wolfson meet to improve his PR by 10 inches!! Video of Frannie's 11'3" PR 2/19/14 Congrats to JAC high jumper, Cory Dyer, for shattering his personal best last night in the high jump at the Wolfson meet. Cory's previous PR in the high jump was 5'8", and last night he jumped 6'6" to set a huge PR, as well as the Oakleaf school record. He also won the event at the meet. He came in at 5'8", and only had one miss the entire competition! He didn't even attempt 6'8", as he was so overcome with joy from clearing 6'6". Great job Cory! 2/15/14 Congrats to JAC athletes who had a great first meet this weekend! We were represented well at the Episcopal meet as well as the Sandalwood meet. Some highlights were Brittany Bowald's PR long jump (18'3"), Jasmine Maina's performance in the jumps (17'1" and PR of 35'4"), Kirby Power's double victory in the 100mH and HJ (hurdle time was almost a 1 second PR!), Hannah Pataky's huge (1.5 second) PR in the 200m for 3rd place, and decathlete Ari Dixon's big PR in the 400m (2nd place). Keep up the great work! 2/7/14 Congrats to JAC jumper Ashton Butler, for signing a scholarship to jump at Florida State University next year! FSU has a tremendous tradition in the jumps, and Coach Dennis Nobles will do a great job with Ashton. Recently FLRunners did a neat article on Ashton, and you can read it here!

2/6/14 Congrats to Cody Rose, Ashton Butler, and Aunikah King on their PR's in the long jump yesterday in their first meet of the outdoor season! Cody broke his school record jumping 22'8", Ashton jumped 23'5", and Aunikah jumped 17'2" from 12 steps! (Not bad for an 8th grader). Tanner Cormier won the 100m hurdles, Frances Rice won the pole vault from a short approach, and Ashton won the triple jump from a short run too. In the sprints, Jonthan Dixon was 1st in the 110m hurdles and 2nd in the 200m, Aunikah won the 200m, and Cody was 2nd in the 100m. It was a great first meet for all of our athletes! 2/3/14 We are proud to announce the offering of the JAC Youth Summer Training group this year!
