Four Red Foxes posted hat tricks in the contest including sophomore J.D. Recor, who racked up a game-high six points...marist stormed out to an 8-1 lead in the first quarter with the help of four points from senior Mike Begley. The Red Foxes held on with the help of senior Dave Scarcello, who made five of his nine saves in the fourth quarter...the two teams combined to score the most goals in a MAAC championship final in the conference s 16-year lacrosse history. LEADING SCORER: Junior Joseph Radin scored his 48th goal of the season with 10:08 left in the second quarter to become the Red Foxes all-time leader in single season goals...peter Cleary and Jim McCormick had each shared the record of 47 goals during the 1986 season...radin now has 109 career goals for fifth place on the program s all-time career list...he scored his 100th career goal in the regular season finale against Siena on April 25. AWARD TOUR: Scarcello earned the tournament s Most Outstanding Player honor while Begley, senior Karl Kreshpane and junior Joseph Radin were also named to the All-Tournament Team...Marist took four of the six major MAAC awards prior to the conference tournament: Faceoff Specialist of the Year (Dominic Montemurro), Offensive Player of the Year (Joseph Radin), Long Stick Midfielder of the Year (Patrick Eaker) and Coach of the Year (Keegan Wilkinson)...Eaker won for the third straight season to tie a conference record...marist had five representatives on the All-Academic Team, including three goalies (Brian Corrigan, Dave Scarcello, Dylan Woods). Dillon Walker and Montemurro were the other two players. CENTURY CLUB: Marist had five players surpass 100 career points this season. The Red Foxes have outscored opponents 113-56 during that span. RECORD SETTING SEASON: Marist s 11 regular season wins and six conference wins tied program marks set in 1986...The Red Foxes went unbeaten in MAAC play for the first time since 2004. MAN UP OFFENSE: The Red Foxes power play is ranked third in the nation, scoring 54.5 percent of the time. Only the Denver Pioneers (60.0 percent) and Colgate Raiders (55.3 percent) have better marks. BROWN LOSS: This will be the first meeting between Marist and Bryant. Both teams suffered one-goal losses to Brown this season. The Red Foxes fell 16-15 in overtime (3/24) and the Bulldogs lost 9-8 (4/21). DATE WITH SYRACUSE: The winner of today s game will face off at no. 2 Syracuse at 7:30 p.m. May 10 in the Carrier Dome. The game will be televised live on ESPNU.

He had spent the four previous years as the Red Foxes assistant coach. Wilkinson led the Red Foxes to one of their best seasons in program history in 2015 and was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. Marist tied a record with 11 regular season wins and went 6-0 in MAAC play, going unbeaten for the first time since 2004. The Red Foxes made their sixth straight MAAC Tournament appearance and hosted for the second straight year. Marist took down Monmouth in the semifinal and then defeated Quinnipiac to clinch the program s first conference title in a decade. The Red Foxes took three more of the MAAC s six major awards this season under Wilkinson: Faceoff Specialist of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and Long Stick Midfielder of the Year. Wilkinson is a 2006 graduate of Saint Joseph s University, where he was a four-year starter at attack and a twoyear captain. He led Saint Joseph s in assists and points three times in his career and finished his collegiate career with 54 goals and 83 assists. He is ranked second on the school s all-time assists list and seventh in career points (137). Coombs lost his life in a car accident near his hometown of Horsham Township, Pa. Each member of the Marist men s lacrosse team wears a patch of a black circle with the white initials EC on their jersey to honor his life. The Red Foxes started a new tradition this year and whill choose a different senior at the beginning of each season to wear Coombs no. 34. Current senior goalie Dave Scarcello was the inaugural recipient of this honor. Eddie Coombs was a well-respected member of the Marist community by staff and students.
