Greetings, Thank you for your interest in helping your local roller derby league, the Alamo City Roller Girls (ACRG). Since 2005, ACRG has worked to provide San Antonio the exciting sport of roller derby as members of the Women s Flat Track Roller Derby Association (WFTDA) and as San Antonio s premier roller derby league. You too can become a part of one of the fastest growing sports in the world. The appeal of roller derby transgresses typical markets. As a sponsor, we will help you reach skaters, fans, volunteers, and our community partners within Texas and across the US. ACRG has been featured across San Antonio in the San Antonio Express News, the Rivard Report, San Antonio Magazine, the Current, the San Antonio Business Journal, and live on air with KYSM and Great Day SA. We pride ourselves on being active members of our communities and appear at events such as Siclovia, Fiesta, and the San Antonio Stars games. At each of these appearances, we increase visibility and name recognition of our league and our sponsors. We will provide your business with a customized sponsorship package to help meet your goals for recruiting new customers, developing loyalty, and aligning your brand with our community. Studies have shown skaters and fans of a sport know the businesses who support their local team, acknowledge their sponsors, and hold them in high regard. (WFTDA, 2012). Moreover, our partnership will have even more value since we are a 501(c)(3) organization, which means your contribution is tax deductible! We are ecstatic about this designation and are ready to hit the ground running with our partnership to help better our community. We appreciate your consideration and time as we look forward to discussing an option that best suits your needs. Thank you, Samantha Doc Slaughter Franklin ACRG Sponsorship Chairperson 210-984-7222 acrgsponsorship@gmail.com

What is Roller Derby? The game of Flat Track Roller Derby is played on a flat, oval track. Play is broken up into two 30-minute periods, and within those periods, into units of play called Jams", which last up to two minutes. There are 30 seconds between each Jam. During a Jam, each team fields up to five Skaters. Four of these Skaters are called Blockers (together, the Blockers are called the Pack ), and one is called a Jammer. The Jammer wears a helmet cover with a star on it. The two Jammers start each Jam behind the Pack, and score a point for every opponent they lap, each lap. Because they start behind the Pack, they must get through the Pack, then all the way around the track to be ready to score points on opposing Blockers. Roller derby is a full contact sport; however, Skaters cannot use their heads, elbows, forearms, hands, knees, lower legs, or feet to make contact to opponents. Skaters cannot make contact to opponents heads, backs, knees, lower legs, or feet. Play that is unsafe or illegal may result in a Skater being assessed a penalty, which is served by sitting in the Penalty Box for 30 seconds of Jam time. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. (WFTDA, 2017) Photos courtesy of 3rd Coast Effect
Who are we? Alamo City Roller Girls is an organization that promotes a strong, positive female image. Our family-friendly organization fosters positivity by creating an environment for women to flourish collectively while helping to give back to the community. ACRG manages this by being involved in local organizations such as collaborating with Girls on the Run, the Children s Shelter of San Antonio, and many more. Our league consists of more than fifty members including skaters, non-skating officials, referees, coaches, and volunteers. The skating members of the league include our travel teams, Las Tejanas and Las Pistoleras, and our home teams Las Luchadoras and Bradley Bombshells. These home teams serve as training teams for our travel teams. Your sponsorship helps support practice space, travel arrangements, bout venue obligations, and other expenses. Having recently earned the designation as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, ACRG assures your company s contribution will be tax deductible.
Why partner with ACRG? ACRG has developed its fan base since its inception in 2005. Our fans are dedicated to supporting the league; attending our bouts and community events; and learning more about the companies and organizations that partner with us. Another interesting detail is that our league is growing! Just last year, we reestablished more facets of our league called home teams. The teams consist of our skaters and we face off against each other. Stick around because these home teams, which were a great success, will be returning for the 2018 season as well. With five home bouts already underway, we are expected to reach an even greater audience. During home bouts, ACRG proudly displays our sponsors banners for our fans and other MCSP visitors to see. The multi-sport complex houses a variety of sporting events and has such a high volume of patrons that it has become one of San Antonio s premier athletic destinations for sports programs.
