The Erymanthian Boar Presented by: Joneah Nauta Tiffany-Rae Camacho 4th Period 15 October 2018

Erymanthian Boar For the fourth labor king Eurystheus ordered Hercules to bring the Erymanthian boar to him alive. The Erymanthian Boar is a huge wild pig with a bad temper and tusk growing out of its mouth. It s Called the Erymanthian Boar because it lived on a mountain called Erymanthus. The boar will come out of its lair everyday to attacking both man and animals on the countryside. Chased by Hercules around the mountain and hid in a thicket until it was driven out. Eventually captured, the boar was brought to king Eurystheus by Hercules.

The Fight The centaurs fought Hercules for opening a wine that belong to all the centaurs in common. After the centaurs smelled the wine, they all went to Pholus cave. All the centaurs were angry that someone dared to open their wine and drink it all. The first pair of centaurs that entered the caved were armed with rocks and fir trees. Hercules grabbed burning sticks from the fire and threw them at the two centaurs. Hercules then went after the centaurs with his club. He shot arrows at the rest of them and chased them almost up to twenty minutes. During the fight one of the centaurs, Chiron, was badly injured that no matter amount of medicine would help him heal. While Hercules was gone, Pholus went to one of the centaurs, pulled out the arrow from its chest, and wondered how a little thing could have bestow upon death to a huge big creature. Suddenly, the arrow slipped out of Pholus hand and landed straight onto his foot, causing instant death. Hercules came back to discover his friend dead. After burying his centaur friend, Hercules went back and proceeded to hunt the boar.

Hunting The Boar It wasn t hard for Hercules to find the Boar for he could hear it snorting and stomping as it look for food. Hercules shouted and chased the boar around Erymanthus mountain for a while. The frightened and exhausted boar hid from hercules in a thicket to get away from Hercules. Hercules drove the boar out into a deep patch of snow and trapped it in a net. Hercules carried the Erymanthian Boar all the way Mycenae and finished his task.

Summary King Eurystheus ordered Hercules to bring him the boar alive. On is journey to find the boar, Hercules stopped to visit his centaur friend Pholus, who lived in a cave. On his stay in Pholus cave, Hercules was feed and drank the common wine of all the centaurs. After finding out what Hercules has done, a fight broke out between Hercules and all the centaurs. At the end of the chaotic fight, all the centaurs ended up dead. Pholus, Hercules friend, retreated an arrow from one of the dead centaur and wondered how a small arrow could kill such a huge creature. Suddenly, the arrow slipped and landed onto Pholus foot causing him to die instantly. As Hercules came back, he saw his dead centaur friend and buried him. After burying Polus, Hercules proceeded his journey to hunt down the Erymanthian Boar. It wasn't hard to find the boar, Hercules could hear the creature snorting and stomping. Hercules soon found out where the boar was. As he saw the boar, Hercules was determined to chase after the creature that he was ordered to capture. After Hercules caught hold of the boar, he carried the creature to Mycenae and finished his task.
