RULES AND REGULATIONS This show is a regular member of the United States Equestrian Federation. Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the USEF rule book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith and in compliance with THJA rules. ENTRIES: No charge to Post enter a class if done the day before, otherwise there will be an additional office fee of $10.00 per add slip. Every Entry Blank must have the signature of the owner/authorized agent, or trainer & be accompanied by a Stall or Open Check. NO NUMBERS WILL BE ISSUED WITHOUT AN OPEN CHECK. THERE WILL BE A $25 LATE FEE FOR ENTRIES POST MARKED AFTER Sept 2 nd.coggins MUST BE INDICATED ON ENTRY BLANK OR PRESENTED AT SHOW. Horses entered in one section requiring a combined entry fee may enter individual classes of a second section requiring a combined entry fee at 30% of the prize money in those classes. There will be an office fee of $30.00 for every horse on the show grounds. It is the responsibility of the person making the entry to execute properly and complete all necessary information pertaining to each entry made in accordance with the rules of the USEF. STALLS will be available Thurs before show @ $140.00. Stalls are permanent 12 x 12 box stalls with doors. Feed, hay and bedding available on show grounds. Manure to be disposed of in designated areas. NO MANURE IN TRASH CONTAINERS. No stall doors or panels may be removed. A $50 grounds fee charged for all horses not purchasing a stall. Non showing horses will be charged $35. NO OUTSIDE SHAVINGS ALLOWED. Arrival prior to Thurs $30/nite. REFUNDS: Prior to close of entries, entry fees shall be refunded upon presentation of a written statement. After that date any refunds will require a signed veterinary statement stating that the horse is unable to perform. In either case there will be $30.00 office processing fee. RETURNED CHECKS: $40.00 will be charged for all returned checks. Accounts will be given 5 days to pay with certified funds or be reported to USEF. CREDENTIALS: ALL EXHIBITORS IN THE PONY, JUNIOR HUNTER AND ANY AMATEUR SECTION MUST PRESENT THEIR MEASUREMENT CARD AND/OR AMATEUR CERTIFICATIONS at the show office before numbers can be released. Send Photostats of cards with entry. All ponies or horses not having current measurement cards will be measured at an announced time and place. Anyone not presenting a current USEF/THJA membership card (or copy) will be charged a Non-Member fee. DRUGS AND MEDICATIONS: Current USEF rules relating to drugs and medications will be enforced. Each horse entered must pay $7.00 Equine Drug/Medication Fee plus an $8.00 USEF fee. SCHOOLING: Times will be posted & announced. HARD HATS MUST BE WORN WHILE MOUNTED. CAMPERS: Camper spaces are available for $40.00 per night. Please reserve on entry blank!! DOGS: Dogs are not permitted to be loose on competition grounds and must be on a leash or otherwise contained. Individuals must not lead dogs on a leash while mounted. Dog owners failing to comply with this rule may be subject to penalty under Ch, 6 & 7, as well as issuance of warning cards. Loose dogs may be Impounded by Animal Control. $200 FINE WILL BE IMPOSED. CHANGES: Management reserves the right to change, cancel or combine classes, alter courses and do all things necessary to compensate for excessive or inadequate entries. ATTIRE: It is compulsory for riders in all Hunter, Jumper and Hunt Seat Equitation classes, both open and restricted including Hunter Hack, where jumping is required and when mounted anywhere on the show grounds to wear properly fastened protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials)/SEI(Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. It must be properly fitted with harness secured. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place. See GR801. Riders must be properly attired. Numbers must be worn and clearly visible. JUMPER: Ties in Jumper classes jump off for first place only. Ties for all other places will be determined by the fastest time in the first round among those with equal number of faults. Ties for Champion & Reserve remain tied. MANUAL POLING IS PROHIBITED FOR ALL HORSES COMPETING IN JUMPER CLASSES. JUMP ORDER: A rotating jumping order will be established for all classes over fences. Riders or trainers with conflicts due to having classes in both rings must see the Paddock Masters so that necessary adjustments can be made. NO RING WILL BE HELD MORE THAN 3 MINUTES DUE TO CONFLICTS FOOTING: All competition and warm up areas have sand/loam footing. Show Rings are 115 x 250. HORSE REGISTRATION All horses must have an USHJA registration number. If the horse has a lifetime recording number with USEF this will automatically become horses USHJA number without additional payment. If your horse has an USEF ID number this will become your USHJA number upon payment of $30 registration fee (www.ushja.org or www.usef.org.) USHJA Zone Support fee of $2.00 applies for each horse.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: In accordance with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES CAN BE BROUGHT ONTO THE PREMISES. FIREARMS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THESE LICENSED PREMISES. RIBBONS, TROPHIES AND CHAMPIONSHIP: All Hunter classes receive a Trophy and 8 ribbons and all Jumper Classes receive a Trophy and 6 ribbons unless otherwise noted. Each Section will receive a Champion and Reserve award based on points earned.. Hunter Champion & Reserve Jumper Champion & Reserve see USEF Rule Book. PRIZES: Prize money is indicated for each class. All prize money will be mailed to exhibitors within 2 weeks after the show. Prize money will be withheld if Social Security number is not on file. Prize money will be payable to the owner unless written authorization stating otherwise is on file with the show secretary. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Rule 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule RESPONSIBILITY: Submission of entry to this show constitutes an agreement to the following: Exhibitor agrees to indemnify and hold San Antonio Rose Palace & Horse Show officials harmless against any claims, demands, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney fee for the defense thereof, arising from the conduct or management of Exhibitor s business or it s use of the premises or from any breach on the part of Exhibitors of any conditions of this Agreement, or contractors, agents, employees, guests or invitees in or about the premises. In case of any action or proceeding brought against San Antonio Rose Palace or Horse Show Management by reason of such claim exhibitor, upon notice, covenants to defend such action or proceeding by council acceptable to owner. Exhibitor is responsible for his/her own property and the San Antonio Rose Palace nor this horse show are not responsible for accidents, fire or theft. THJA MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT THJA MEMBERS SHALL BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL CLASSES AT COMPETITIONS RECOGNIZED BY THJA. A NON-MEMBER MAY PARTICIPATE AS RIDER, OWNER LESSEE, AGENT, OR TRAINER IN THJA RECOGNIZED SHOWS UPON PAYMENT OF A $10.00 REGISTRATION FEE. PARTICIPANTS IN THE FOLLOWING CLASSES ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS RULE (1) LEADLINE, (2) EXHIBITIONS, (3) GAMES AND RACES, (4) BEGINNER, (5) SHORT- STIRRUP, (6) PRE-BEGINNER AND (7) BABY-GREEN.(See also THJA Bylaws, Section 1F) NON RESIDENTS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS ARE EXEMPT FROM THE PAYMENT OF NON-MEMBER FEES. IF A MEMBER DOES NOT HAVE A MEMBERSHIP CARD WITH HIM/HER OR IS NOT ON THE CURRENT THJA ROSTER, A $10.00 NON MEMBER FEE MUST BE PAID. A CHECK FOR THE NON-MEMBER FEE AND/OR A MEMBERSHIP AFFIDAVIT FORM MUST BE FILED WITH THE HORSE SHOW OFFICE. THE NON-MEMBER FEE WILL BE REFUNDED UPON PROOF OF THJA MEMBERSHIP. A PERSON/HORSE MAY REGISTER WITH THE THJA AT A RECOGNIZED HORSE SHOW AS LONG AS THE APPLICATION(S) AND PAYMENT ACCOMPANIES THE OFFICIAL HORSE SHOW RESULTS. PAYMENT MAY BE MADE IN THE FORM OF A PERSONAL CHECK, MONEY ORDER OR CASHIER S CHECK. WARNING!!! UNDER TEXAS LAW (CHAPTER 87, CIVIL PRACTICE AND REMEDIES CODE), AN EQUINE PROFESSIONAL IS NOT LIABLE FOR AN INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF A PARTICIPANT IN EQUINE ACTIVITIES RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF EQUINE ACTIVITIES

USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active, and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining, and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions, and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 nonmember registration fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the requirements of this rule; 1) leadline; 2)exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4)classes for 4-H members; 5)walk/trot and academy classes (Academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6)USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA endorsed Reining Competitions; 8) Opportunity classes 9) Citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation; 10)USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. FEDERATION ENTRY AGREEMENT By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing this entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of the USEF ( the Federation ) and the local rules of the competition. I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition. I will accept as final the decision of the Hearing Committee on any question arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Federation, their officials, directors and employees for any action taken under the Rules. I represent that I am eligible to enter and/or participate under the rules, and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I also agree that as a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of entry, the Federation and/or the competition may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cablecasts, broadcasts, internet, film, new media or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the competition for the promotion coverage or benefit of the competition, sport, or the Federation. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way as to jeopardize amateur status. I hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to misappropriation. The construction and application of Federation Rules are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any action instituted against the Federation must be filed in New York State. See GR 908.4

HUNTER DIVISION Courses will simulate fences found in the hunting field such as: brush, wall, in & out, oxer, post/rails, gates, aiken, and panels. In some classes the area of the Courtesy Circle may be restricted by mandatory line. This line will be indicated on the course diagram and physically in the ring. Classes will be judged on performance and soundness unless otherwise noted in the prize list. Sections will be combined or canceled in accordance with USEF rules.
