Drew stanton - founder of the High 5ive Foundation As a student/athlete at Michigan State University I had the pleasure of working with both the Special Olympics and Children s Miracle Network. I learned so much about myself and what helping others was really all about. I was so touched by this experience that I made a promise that if I was ever in a position to really give back to these organizations I would do so. I had the ability to keep my promise when the Detroit Lions drafted me with the 43rd overall pick in the 2007 draft. I have been fortunate enough to continue my boyhood dream of playing professional football and am now going into my 10th season in the NFL. With High 5ive, I want to make other peoples dreams come true. The mission of the High 5ive Foundation is to improve the quality of life for all people with varying disabilities through raising public awareness and inspiring individuals to achieve personal goals which at one time seemed unattainable. Sparrow children s center & children s miracle network CMN s mission is to generate funds and awareness programs for the benefit of children served by its associated hospitals. High 5ive is proud to partner with Sparrow Children s Center, part of the CMN network, to brighten the stay of children at Sparrow. With our partner Lexus of Lansing, we ve been able to complete projects like redecorating a pediatric treatment room and creating a new teen room as a haven for teen patients. This year s focus will be placed upon completely renovating the playroom in the Sparrow Children s Center. www.cmn.org; www.sparrow.org. Michigan Special olympics Special Olympics is a global nonprofit organization targeting the nearly 200 million people round the world who have intellectual disabilities.
