SPECIAL CLASSES and EVENTS : NEW EXPERIMENTAL CLASS: MULTIGAIT TEAM: This class is designed to allow clubs with only a few vaulters at each vaulting level to be able to have a competitive team experience. A team may consist of walk, trot and canter vaulters. Team Compulsories: Because compulsories are important, each vaulter performs compulsories at his appropriate gait: walk, trot or canter. Assisted mounts receive a score of zero. Team Freestyle: The team 4 minute Freestyle is performed at the walk with assisted mounts required for the benefit of the horse. AVA C-Team rules apply, with the exception of the gait of the horse. The team may consist of 3 to 6 vaulters. MULTIGAIT TEAM LEVELS: A level 1 team consists only walk and trot vaulters A level 2 team consists of walk and trot vaulters with no more than 2 copper and/or bronze vaulters. No gold or silver vaulters. A level 3 team consists of any level of vaulters. Adult Class on Horse or Barrel: Unrecognized Adult class open to any vaulter age 21+ Adult vaulters may enter Walk, Trot or Canter division. Adult vaulters may enter Compulsories, Freestyle or both. The Compulsories for this class will be the 1* compulsories, same as for trot or copper. Freestyle restrictions and scoring will be the same as those in the AVA guidelines for trot or copper. Assisted mount required for those competing at the walk. The mount in the adult classes is unscored. Music may contain lyrics Costume classes: Unrecognized costume classes on horse or barrel for individuals or group (2 or more vaulters) will be scored on creativity; and entertainment value; coordination of theme, costume and music; and performance. There is no restriction on costume or props. Maximum time 1 minute per vaulter. No penalty for under time. (Use judgment for safety.). Preliminary Trot: Follows AVA guidelines. Assisted mounts are allowed but will incur a score of zero for the mount. An assisted mount for Freestyle will incure a 1 point deduction from Performance. Trot and Preliminary Trot Barrel Freestyle: Same restrictions as in AVA rule book for trot horse classes. Gambler s Choice: Vaulters enter individually and then are paired with a vaulter from another club. Pairings will be announced at 10:00 on Saturday Morning. They then have several hours to come up with a pairs freestyle on the barrel. Green Horse: Green horse class is designed for the new horse that you want to get in the arena for comments or scores. However, it is a non-competitive class to give a vaulter a chance to vault on the green horse while the vaulter may vault on a different horse for competition. California Gold horse or Barrel: Non-competitive performance can be single, double or team of compulsories or freestyle for judges comments or scores only. Freestyle times will be as follows: A-team, B-team, C-team and trot-team: 4 minutes All 2-phase teams: 3 minutes Modified canter and trot team freestyle: 4 minutes All individual freestyles (horse or barrel): 60 seconds Open Pas de Deux (horse): 2 minutes Preliminary Pas de Deux (horse): 90 seconds Trot Pas de Deux: 90 seconds 3-man barrel team: 2 minutes Canter, trot and novice barrel pairs: 90 seconds Special Pairs (barrel): 2 minutes Gamblers' Choice: 90 seconds Costume class is maximum 1 minute per vaulter. No penalty for under time.

RULES, REGULATIONS AND GENERAL INFORMATION From the current AVA /AVA Region I Rule Book. 1. Carnival in Norco is governed by the rules and specifications of the current AVA /AVA Region I Rule Book. Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current AVA rulebook will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. 2. ENTRIES; All entries close on January 17, 2017. Entries must be completed online on compweb. Call for help if needed. Correct fees and association numbers must accompany each entry form. NO POST ENTRIES will be accepted. ATTENTION COMPETITORS: Each competitor is responsible for supplying management with correct association numbers ( AVA) for horse, owner, vaulter, trainer, lunger and coach, before the day of competition. The scores of competitors who fail to supply correct numbers may not be counted toward national awards. 3. LATE ENTRIES; ABSOLUTELY NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. 4. REFUNDS: There will be positively no refunds after the closing date. Only scratches due to medical reasons and supported with documentation ( Doctors note) will be refunded in full except for the non-refundable registration fee. Scratches made prior to the closing date will be refunded. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to call (951)440-4589 before the closing date to be eligible for a refund. 5. CHANGES ON ENTRIES AFTER DEADLINE February 8, 2016: All changes in entries after the closing date will be subject to a fee of $10.00 per change requested. All changes will be subject to approval by Show Management. 6. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: Every horse and pony entered for competition will be under the control of the horse Show Management, but the Horse Show Management will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Horse Show, it s Directors, and Employees,, AVA Region I, Pepper Glen Farms, Andrea Brown, the American Vaulting Association it s Directors and Employees harmless for any loss or accident to his horse, horses or equipment which may occur from accident, sickness, fire or otherwise. Management reserves the right to cancel, combine or divide classes, or to change officials as it deems necessary, decision of Show Management is final. Order of Go will be emailed to the coach of all Clubs entered. Failure to enter ring by scheduled time may incur elimination. This is the responsibility of the exhibitor. Score sheets will only be given to coaches or their authorized representative after all results have been posted. 7. CLASS LIST INFORMATION:. AVA CLASSES: - Individual Gold, Silver and Bronze, A-Team, B-Team, C Team and Open Pas De Deux, Trot Team, Open 2-Phase, Preliminary 2-Phase Team, Trot 2-Phase Team, Preliminary Pas de Deux, Trot Pas de Deux, Individual Copper, Trot, Unrecognized Classes: Preliminary Trot, Region I classes: Modified canter and Trot teams (4-6 vaulters with freestyle on the horse at the walk), Individual Horse and Barrel Novice Modified Walk, Novice Walk, Novice Advanced Walk, Novice Trot, Copper compulsories to the right, 3-man barrel Team, Barrel Freestyle classes, barrel pairs, Adult classes on the horse and barrel, and costume classes. Management reserves the right to combine or divide classes. ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES: Entries will be accepted on line only, and must be completed by January 17, 2017. Call for assistance if needed. Release forms and payment must be mailed by January 17, 2017. 10. REFUSUAL OF ENTRIES: The Management has the right to refuse entries of an exhibitor or participation of any vaulter, lunger, Owner, Trainer or Coach who has shown objectionable attitude or behavior at a recognized competition towards its management, which management is able to substantiate, or previous unsportsmanlike behavior at a Recognized Competition which management is able to substantiate or if payment has not been cleared through the bank by competition day. 11. PRIZES AND AWARDS: Gold divisions will be awarded for combination of 3 parts. Silver, Bronze divisions ribbons will be given to each Round and Overall, Men s and Women s division awarded through 5 th place. Teams and all other classes will be awarded for compulsory round and Freestyle round through 5th and overall to first place. Novice and barrel classes will not receive Overall ribbons. 12. MINOR EXHIBITORS: Parents or guardians of minor exhibitors shall hold Pepper Glen Farms, Andrea Brown, AVA Region I, American Vaulting Association harmless for injury to such minor. No child s entry blank shall be accepted unless it is signed by a parent or guardian. The signature of instructors, agents, or other unrelated persons will not be accepted. 13. MANAGEMENT: The management reserves the right to itself interpret all questions and conditions in regard to or rising out of or incident to the show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the horse show management and its decision will be final. 14. RETURNED CHECK: Checks returned by the bank for any reason will be handled as follows; All returned checks will be charged an additional 10% penalty ($25.00 minimum). Accounts will be given 10 days to be paid in full with cash or cash equivalent. 15. STABLING: Stabling is available at a cost of $15.00 per day for day use for pens or $30 over night. Please supply your own food and bedding. All pens have gates. Stalls are outdoors and uncovered. There is a $15 grounds fee per horse per day for all horses in addition to any stabling fee. 16. GROUNDS: Exhibitors may park (car and trailer) only in specified areas. Absolutely no dogs allowed on show grounds. Spectator area available, bring your own seating. Only those horses entered in the show will be permitted in the competition and warm-up areas during the competition. 17. Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of a licensed competition. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Rule 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. 18. ARENAS: Existing dirt and shavings footing will be in the competition and on-deck arenas. Competition Arenas are 22 meter circles. Riding warm-up 20 x 60 meter sand footing. Longing warm-up 20 meter sand footing. Competitors may have access to all arenas Saturday afternoon. 19. MUSIC: Must be submitted by coaches or competitors online by January 26, 2017. Management is not responsible for poor quality music media. All music must be clearly marked. 20. DRAW: A draw for the order of go of Teams and individuals will be done by random computer selection on January 22 at 6:30pm in Diamond Bar. 21. SCHEDULING: Order of go will be available January 24, 2017. All changes to Order of go MUST be requested from show management by February 5. 2017, so as not to incur the change fee of $10.00 per change.

I acknowledge that competitive and pleasure horse riding contains inherent risks of injury and damage to me personally, to my horse, and to my equipment. Knowing these facts I, nevertheless, in consideration of your acceptance of this form, hereby for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators waive, release, discharge and hold harmless the American Vaulting Association, AVA Region 1, EVX Vaulting Club, Andrea Brown, PepperGlen Farms and its owners, board of directors, officers and all individual members thereof and all other persons and organizations any way connected with the events, property, boarding, lessons or any other related activities, their representatives, heirs, executors, administrators and assigns from any and all right, claim or liability for damages or for any and all injuries that might be sustained by me including injuries to animals or from any and all claims of any kind or nature that I might have as a result of, or rising out of my participation in any activity. Further, I do hereby acknowledge that this release will extend to any accidents, damages or claims arising out of my participation, caused by my own acts or the acts of anyone or any animal within my control. I further agree that I will defend, indemnify and hold harmless the American Vaulting Association, AVA Region 1, PepperGlen Farms, and the owners, officers, directors, members and agents or any of them against all claims, demands and causes of action including court costs and attorney's fees, directly or indirectly arising from any action or other proceeding brought by or prosecuted for my benefit contrary to this release extended to all claims of every kind and nature what-so-ever whether known and expressly waive any benefits I may have under Section 1542 of the California Civic Code relating to the release of unknown claims.
