October 24, 2013 Massasoit Chapter Meeting The October Massasoit Chapter Meeting was Held on Thursday October 24, 2013 at Patty & Dennis Martin s The October Meeting was Dedicated to the Massasoit Chapter Annual Business Meeting and the Election of Chapter Officers. Chairman: Dennis Martin Program Chairman: Judith Macioci Secretary & Treasurer: Elaine Nudd Treasurer: Patty Martin Corresponding Secretary: David Burbine Newsletter: Meeting Business Conducted at the October Meeting: 1. Election of Massasoit Chapter officers was conducted. 2. The Massasoit Chapter voted to raise the yearly dues to $10.00. 3. Elaine Nudd collected the yearly dues from the Chapter members. 4. Judy Macioci, Program Chair, asked the chapter members for ideas for meeting presenters for 2014. 5. Judy Macioci is working on scheduling speakers for the 2014 monthly meetings. 6. The chapter discussed moving the monthly meeting location form the home style setting that has been part of the Massasoit Chapter from it d beginning to a more formal setting at a central location in the community. The Massasoit Chapter leaders are working on this project. 7. One of the possibilities for the Massasoit Chapter monthly meetings is the newly renovate Kingston Heritage Center. Chapter members are working on this proposal. 8. Marilyn Kozodoy gave the members an up-date on the Archaeological project being conducted in Kingston at the new soccer fields. Marilyn told the members that as it stands now, due to liability issues, there will not be and surface hunting for artifacts on the soccer fields after the Archaeological firm from Rhode Island is finished. 9. The November meeting is being held at Joan Lyons home on Thursday, November 21, 2013. 2
