NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Glen Ellyn Park District, owner of the property at 645 Lenox Road, commonly known as Lake Ellyn Park, is requesting approval of variations from the Sign Code to accommodate the installation of three monument signs and two special event signs. The subject property is in the CR Conservation Recreation district located on the east side of Lenox Road between Essex Road and Hawthorn Road and is legally described as follows: LOTS 44 THROUGH 64, BOTH INCLUSIVE, AND ALL OF THE VACATED 66.0 FOOT WIDE RIGHT OF WAY OF LINDEN STREET LYING NORTH OF AND ADJACENT TO LOTS 51 AND 52 AFORESAID, AND ALL OF THE VACATED 35 FOOT WIDE ELLYN AVENUE RIGHT OF WAY LYING SOUTHERLY OF THE SOUTH LINE OF THE ESSEX ROAD RIGHT OF WAY, AND NORTH OF THE NORTH LINE OF HAWTHORNE BOULEVARD RIGHT OF WAY (ALSO BEING THE SOUTH LINE OF LOT 44 AFORESAID EXTENDED EAST) IN COLLINS AND GAUNTLETTS LAKE ELLYN, BEING A SUBDIVISION IN SECTION 11, TOWNSHIP 39 NORTH, RANGE 10 EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEROF RECORDED OCTOBER 21, 1914 AS DOCUMENT NUMBER 118383, IN DUPAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS. P.I.N. 05-11-215-001 Before the Glen Ellyn Village Board can consider the request for approval of variations from the Sign Code, the Plan Commission must conduct a public hearing. The Plan Commission will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Galligan Board Room on the third floor of the Glen Ellyn Civic Center, 535 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, Illinois to consider the requests in order to the signage as depicted on the plans on file with the Planning & Development Department. All persons who are interested are invited to attend the public hearing of the Plan Commission to listen and be heard. The Plan Commission will consider the following Variations to the Sign Code: 1. A variation from Section 4-5-8(A)1 to allow three (3) free-standing sign lieu of the maximum one (1) sign permitted. 2. A variation from Section 4-5-4(R)3 to allow a free-standing sign to encroach into the minimum setback of five (5) feet from the property line. 3. A variation from Section 4-5-5(S) to allow a free-standing sign to encroach into the public right-of-way. 4. A variation from Section 4-5-7(B)2 to allow special event signage to be displayed permanently in lieu of the maximum fourteen (14) days prior to an event and maximum three (3) days after the event.

5. A variation from Section 4-5-7(B)6 to allow special event signage to be displayed permanently in lieu of the maximum three (3) times per year. 6. Any other relief from the Village of Glen Ellyn Sign Code necessary to construct the signage as depicted on the plans presented or revised at the public hearing or at a public meeting of the Village Board. All persons in the Village of Glen Ellyn who are interested are invited to attend the public hearing to listen and be heard. Information related to the requests, including the plans for the proposed project is available for public review at any time before or after the meeting between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm in the Planning and Development Department of the Civic Center, 535 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
