ISF WSC Basketball With 24 World Schools Championships organised between 1973 and 2017, basketball is one of the sports with the longest history in the International School Sport Federation. Last Championship took place in Poreč, Croatia, where 33 countries participated. Risk Assessment The LOC reassures all participating countries and officials that safety issues are their first target. The LOC guarantees a perfectly organised championship, in which all the concerned parties and stakeholders will do their utmost to deliver a safe and secured experience for all participants. If any changes occur, you will immediately be informed. 3. Visa Policy VISA requirements and documents to entreat various Ports of entry (train, bus, airport) have to be checked by the individual nations. If you encounter any trouble during your journey, you can contact the LOC. All students in the school team must have been enrolled at the same school since the beginning of the school year 2018/2019. Each team shall be composed of 1012 players, 2 teachers/coaches and 1 referee. The referee shall be in possession of a national or international qualification. 2. Composition of the delegation Sport Athletes Basketball 1024 minmax Head of delegation 1 Coaches/ Teachers 24 Referee 12 Add adults 2 All students must be attending schools which provide a general education. The following are not eligible to participate: pupils of vocational schools who only attend that school as a complement to their vocational training, school teams and pupils enrolled at schools which provide sports training without any general education, parttime (e.g. afternoon) sports schools which take pupils from a variety of schools for training in one or more sports, teams formed as part of clubs, companies, universities or other institutions. Coaches: the coach is the trainer dedicated to his/her team. Participating countries are bound to have minimum two and maximum four team officials per team whereof at least one teacher. Head of Delegation: he/she may not combine the function of Head of Delegation and coach or another official function. He/she shall be the sole intermediary between his/her delegation and the Organising Committee, the ISF Technical Commission and the ISF Delegate. Referees: The ISF and FIBA concluded an agreement to cooperate concerning refereeing. FIBA will ask the National Basketball Federations to contact the School Sport Authorities of the participating countries to request to send potentials (young promising referees) to the WSC who will be followed by a dedicated FIBA referee instructors team during the

event. Participating countries, as before, will pay for the travel and stay of their referees (50 EUR per person/per night in double room). Additional adults: function must be specified: doctor, physiotherapist, interpreter, security personnel, ministry representative, journalist... Any other additional person will not be considered part of the official delegation and will not be accredited by the LOC. Participants obligations: Each participant is required to be present throughout the whole duration of the event. Each participant is obliged to take part also in all of the nonsport activities. Each team undertakes to compete against all other participating teams. Each participant undertakes to compete against all other participants. The absence of any member of a participating team from any part of the entire sport programme, opening, prizegiving and closing ceremonies and sociocultural programme may result in the team being excluded from the results. ADMINISTRATION & FINANCE 1. Registration Please use your ERAS credentials to access registration. If you need a new username and password, please contact the ISF secretariat isf@isfsports.org. Registration for Phase 1 is closed. Registration for Phase 2 is closed, except for delegations with LOC agreement. Eras Registration Phase 3 reminder and deadline is 30.03.2019. 2. Fees a) Participation fee In accordance with the rules laid down by ISF, the payment to be made to the organisers of the event amounts to 50 per person and per night. It covers the competition, cultural programme activities and all transport in connection with the official programme (arrival, departure, sports and cultural programmes). b) ISF levy An additional ISF levy of 40 per member in the delegation must be paid together with the balance of the participation fee. c) Donation to the School Sport Foundation The ISF School Sport Foundation intends to provide underprivileged school children with opportunities to access sports training by highly qualified PE teachers and trainers and to dispose of good quality school sport equipment and infrastructure. One of the occasions to help the Foundation is the Charity Gala Dinner in which the Heads of Delegation will be invited. An extra contribution of 50 for taking part is requested. A second way to raise funds for the School Sport Foundation is a free contribution that you can add to the 40 ISF levy of the participants. You can add 5, 10 or 15 per participant to the ISF levy to pay. Instead of paying 40, you thus pay 45, 50 or 55 per participant. d) Total Fee The total sum per person amounts to # nights 8 Participation fee x 50 + 3. If deposit has been paid then the deposit must be deducted from the total final payment All bank charges (for both deposit and balance) are to be met by the participating countries. 4. Insurance Each country is required to provide insurance for each member of its delegation. At a minimum the insurance is to cover civil liability, material damage and medical costs. 5. Deadlines 6. Registration Phase 1 and 2:closed Registration phase 3: 30th of March 2019 Accreditation Procedure Please formulate the following required info and other necessary specifications: Date and time of accreditation: 11th 12th of April 2019 The accreditations will be held at the Marina Beach Hotel. Accreditation centre will be open from 11th of April 2019 (for early arriving Delegations and for all ISF members). Accreditation will be conducted from 09:00 to 20:00 for the second and third day (11th and 12th of April 2019). * Time of Accreditation Procedure may change according to delegations arrival. The accreditation will take place in the hotels by the LOC and TC members. At the Accreditation the Head of Delegation and the Coach must be present. Upon reguest of the Technical Committee a specific person/persons may be asked to present themselves.

The Control Commission composed of representatives of the ISF Technical Commission Basketball and representatives of the Local Organizing Committee will proceed to the check the following documents: 1. Finances: proof of payment of the balance including any bank charges and if not sent to the LOC before, the payment overview. To help the Local Organizing Committee to process your payment correctly please complete the form 'payment overview' in attachment and send it to the LOC by email when you pay the balance. 2. Accreditation For the delegation: a) the School Certificate official form signed by the Headmaster of the school and the legal School Sport Entity, confirming that all players are full time students at the school, since the beginning of the school year. b) the document certifying that the delegation is covered by an insurance that at least covers civil liability, material damage and medical costs. For every student: a) the passport (or identity card) bearing family name, first name, photograph, nationality and date of birth b) the antidoping consent form (download from ERAS) c) the use of image consent form (download from ERAS) When checking is finished the Head of delegation will receive the accreditation cards and welcome packages for each participant in his/her delegation. Participants must carry the accreditation card with them all the time to have access to transport, competition, activities and meals. Nonaccredited people shall not have access to any of the services provided by the LOC (transport, meals, accommodation, etc ). LOGISTICS 1. Arrival & Departure The LOC and Local Schools representatives, will welcome the delegations upon arrival at the airport or at the port of Heraklion. The official Mascot of the competition will welcome the delegations as well. Complementary transportation will be provided for the transportation to the hotels. If a different city of Crete than Heraklion is chosen as port of entry, the transportation to the hotels is provided only after communication with the LOC and the assumption of the costs by the arriving Country. The transportation provided from the port of entry is bus.

Extended stay possibilities available only after communication with LOC. o When the distance between the host city and the capital of a participating country on another continent exceeds 5000 kilometres the delegation may extend its stay by arriving one day earlier or leaving one day later at the normal daily fee (50 ). 2. Transport Network LOC provide busses among all Venues of interest (Port of entry, Port of departure, Hotels, Courts, Nation's Day meeting point). All meals are provided at the Hotels' food Halls.

Parents/spectators: Accommodation availability and rates, after communication with the LOC. NONSPORT ACTIVITIES Opening Ceremony: Will take place at the Indoor Main Hall of Heraklion Arena at 19.30 (hall capacity: 5000 persons). The Heraklion Arena sports facility is located in Dio Aorakia area, Nea Alikarnassos of the Municipality of Heraklion. All delegations should attend the Opening Ceremony. Also spectators from local schools, local teams and other people from the city of Heraklion are welcome to watch the Opening Ceremony. Cultural Programme: On Tuesday 16th of April 2019 (morning), all teams will have the chance to meet and interact with their local brotherhood school. A transportation may be arranged accordingly, so teams to visit local schools. Gala Dinner: The date and location of the Charity Gala Dinner will be communicated during the Head of Delegation meeting. Formal clothing is required for all participants in the dinner. Nations Night : Nations Night is set to be on Tuesday 16th of April 2019, at 17.00 at the centre of Heraklion (Dikaiosinis st.) The event will take place outdoors, on a main pedestrian street of the city's centre. All delegations will have a specific booth to exhibit their country's culture. A main stage will be available for all countries performances. Local school students will interact with the delegations. Closing Ceremony:

Closing Ceremony will take place at the Indoor Hall of Heraklion Arena at 20.30 (after the Finals). The Ceremony includes awards and trophies. SPORTS 1. Technical Details General Rules: The ISF Technical commission for basketball will be responsible for the running and control of the World Schools Championship. The World Schools Championship is organised according to ISF rules and to current FIBA rules. The rules of play will adhere to the ISF Basketball Rules which can be found at thislink A Control Commission, a Disciplinary Commission and an Appeal Jury will be nominated Event Disciplinary Commission: In accordance with the ISF General Competition Rules, the Disciplinary Commission will be composed of the ISF Delegate the President of the ISF Basketball Technical Commission the President of the Local Organising Committee The Disciplinary Commission will deal with all matters relating to discipline arising during the championship matches and also during the period of the Championship where the matters are not covered by technical regulations. Issues related to discipline that cannot be solved by the Event Disciplinary Commission on the spot will be passed on to the Permanent ISF Disciplinary Commission. It should be noted that where there is a sufficiently serious lack of respect for ISF rules the Disciplinary Commission can disqualify participants, teams or delegations from the competition and to require them to return home before the conclusion of the event. Appeal Jury In accordance with the ISF General Competition Rules, the Appeal Jury will be composed of the President of the ISF Technical Commission Basketball an appointed member of the Local Organising Committee Head FIBA Instructor

The Appeal Jury will decide on all appeals concerning the results of the competition in the light of the rules of FIBA and the ISF rules for Basketball. The Appeal Jury will not pronounce on disciplinary matters. Appeal Jury decisions are final and may not be appealed. Appeals Appeals against results or any other appeal not concerning disciplinary matters will be heard by the Appeal Jury. The appeal must be lodged within 30 minutes of the incident and be in writing in English. The sum of 50 EUR must accompany the appeal. This sum will be refunded only if the appeal is upheld or at the discretion of the Appeal Jury. If not, the sum will be donated to the School Sport Foundation. Obligations Each participant is required to be present throughout the whole duration of the event, from the day of arrival until the day of departure, specified in the programme. Each participant is obliged to take part in all of the nonsport activities. Each team undertakes to compete against all other participating teams. Each participant undertakes to compete against all other participants. The absence of any member of a participating team from any part of the entire sport programme, opening, prizegiving, and closing ceremonies and sociocultural programme may result in the disqualification of that team. 2. Competition System The draw took place in Heraklion Municipality Hall in February 17, 2019. In the Championship will participate 28 Girls teams and 25 Boys teams from 33 Countrys. Sport Equipment Balls: During the championship the following FIBA approved Balls will be used: WilsonEvolution Game Ball 7 for Boys Wilson Evolution Game Ball 6 for Girls For warm up in the games, 6 Balls will be given to each team. Games Uniform: Numbers should be from number 4 to 15. *Even though FIBA rules permits numbers from 0 99, In some halls the score boards can accept numbers only from 4 to 15. Water at the Games: A bottle of 500 ml will be given to each player in every game. 4. Sport Schedule The detailed Games Schedule will be announced at the Technical Meeting in April 12th. Sport Info Desk There will be one Sport Info Desk at every Accommodation Hotel, and one at the main Halls. MEDICAL 1. Food & Beverage Full board accommodation is provided with three Buffet (selfservice) meals per day and meal times are clearly displayed at each residence dining hall. The menu will be based on the needs of the athletes.

Depending on the schedule of the participants, meals shall be served at the accommodation place. Free access to drinking water is available to all participants within the venue perimeter. Enough bottled water is available and easily accessible for all accredited people during meals and on any event venues. The LOC will accommodate specific diet and food restrictions, which will be specified following Phase 3 registration for participants. 2. Doping Control Dope testing (for use of banned substances) can take place during the competition according to current ISF AntiDoping Rules: http://isfsports.org/sites/default/files/isfantidopingrules_0.pdf If selected for testing a competitor may be accompanied by an adult. If a competitor is following a course of medical treatment which includes the use of prohibited substances according to the current WADA prohibited list (2019 version: https://www.wadaama.org/sites/default/files/wada_2019_english_prohibited_list.pdf ), he or she must obtain from his/her National AntiDoping Agency (NADO) a TUE (Therapeutic Use Exemption) that complies with the requirements of the International Standard and must inform the organisers immediately upon arrival. 3. Hospitals Medical care is provided to all the venues by official accredited doctors Accredited Hospitals that are aware of the competition: The University Hospital of Heraklion (Pa.G.N.I.) is the largest hospital facility in Crete and one of the largest public hospitals in the country and Pa.G.N.I. provides secondary and tertiary health care in a wide range of clinical specialties, diagnostic and laboratory tests.it is located 8km away from the city of Heraklion The General Hospital of Heraklion "Venizeleio&Pananio"provides high quality health services to citizens in a friendly and human environmentand it is located 4km away from Heraklion center.
