Keep watch to see when the movie time is scheduled. If you have a favorite movie, come see Bruce or Ellie Miller and maybe we can share your movie with others in the community. For a fun night, bring your own snacks and drinks. March 3, Noon, Ladies in park potluck. All ladies welcome to come and join the fun & food. Please bring your own table service and a dish to pass. At 1:00 PM there will be a style show with six lovely ladies modeling clothes from Bon Worths of Port Charlotte March 5 and March 19, 6PM 9PM, Music for Karaoke & Line Dancing, FREE, COME ONE, COME ALL. Lots of songs for you to choose the perfect song or bring your own songs. This is a time to show off your vocal and dancing talents. Bring your own drinks and snacks and enjoy a relaxing evening. THE OLDER THE FIDDLE, THE SWEETER THE TUNE March 9, 7 PM, Arcadia Band and singers will be at the clubhouse to perform for a Love offering that goes to repair instruments for kids in school bands. March 11, Women s golf outing at Sebring Municipal Golf Club, 1:00 PM shotgun. Cost for golf is $28. Lunch after. Details and signup sheet posted on bulletin board in hallway

EVERYONE WELCOME March 13, 7 PM (Doors open at 6 PM): Gordy & Debbie Variety Show, playing an upbeat variety of country, 50 s & 60 s, gospel and patriotic music with a little comedy. This show incorporates video throughout the performance to make it a very visual experience. With State of the Art sound, they can bring the Branson show experience directly to you. Branson Performer & Winners of several awards (at least 6 recent ones). This show, our final performance of the season, you will not want to miss. Tickets are $15 per person and are available from Marilyn Ellinger, across from Clubhouse on center rd, lot #351, ****************************************************************************************** March 17, NOON, Ladies out of park lunch at the Watering Hole Restaurant in Sebring. Please note time change back to Noon. Please sign up in the clubhouse by March 15. Please arrange your own transportation. If you ride with someone, we usually give $5.00 apiece to the driver. Address is 6813 US 27, Sebring 33876. Take Hwy 66 from Zolfo Springs to US 27, turn left (North), go about 1 mile, approximately. Restaurant is on the left side, park in back. March 18, 4 6 PM, Steak Dinner. It s that time again! Our annual Steak Dinner. I can promise you won t go away hungry! Dinner includes a 12 14 oz. steak, a baked potato, salad, roll, desert and drink, all for just $12.00 Per Person. Proceeds from this dinner go to a number of projects including treadmills, building improvements and kitchen supplies. Tickets can be purchased from Marilyn Ellinger, lot 351 or Jerry Smith, lot 339 340) Please bring your own table service. March 18 will be the final jam session following the steak dinner. March 19, PRECO Annual Membership Meeting at PRECO Park, 220 Knight Rd, Wauchula. Free food, music, informational booths, door prizes. Bring your photo ID to register beginning at 10 AM. For faster registration take your electric bill for them to scan the QR code plus photo ID. March 23, 1 4 PM, Brookside Bluff Art Show at the clubhouse. Come and see what the painting group has done this year. Refreshments will be served.
March 27, 7:00 AM, Easter Sunrise Service at Charlie Creek. Come and celebrate the Risen Savior. Continental breakfast afterwards in the clubhouse. March 27, Easter Dinner. Check bulletin boards for details. Re Creation was a success! Formerly touring with the USO but then taking the USO over, they set out to raise money every Jan & Feb. A lot of people have asked if we could have them back. That is something that needs to be discussed with the Activity Committee. We would like to thank Jeanne Bremmer, Charlotte Marriner, Dolly Gray, Alycia Kenny, Cindy Bailey, Jeannie Kiergard & Betty White for housing them and for the wonderful dinner and breakfast they made for them while here. Also Wauchula State Bank gave a $75 donation and the two 50/50 winners of $115 each donated it back to Re Creation. We ended up giving them a check for $2516.00 and more donations are being mailed. Thank you!! Thank you to Marilyn Ellinger, Barbara Jorgensen, and Jane Martin for their donations to the Valentine Sweet buffet. ****************************************************************************************** Door Prizes & Winners We would like to thank the following local businesses Not Just Frames at 3 W. Terra Fried Chicken at 5 N. 10 th Ave in Arcadia at Oak Plaza gave a certificate for a FREE dinner for two at our Susan Hudson Carmen Show. Chili s in Arcadia gave $30 for dinner at our Susan Hudson Carmen Show. Mary Margaret s Tea & Biscuit Room at 10 S. Polk Ave in old downtown Arcadia gave a $20 gift card at the Susan Hudson Carmen Show. Eli s Western Wear at 1011 E. Oak St, in Arcadia again gave a $25 gift certificate at the Susan Hudson Carmen show. At each of our mailboxes there is a trash barrel for the junk mail. This is just a courtesy provided by our maintenance department. PLEASE do not put your dog s poop bags in these barrels. You can imagine what the sun does to the odor in there. Junior should not have to deal with this when he dumps the barrels. Thanks to you all. MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE A CLEAN SHIRT, A CLEAR CONSCIENCE, AND ENOUGH COINS IN YOUR POCKET TO BUY A PINT St. Patrick Day Irish Recipe to serve with corned beef: Colcannon (Serves 8) 2 ½ pounds potatoes, peeled & cubed ½ cup milk 4 6 slices bacon, drained & crumbled (reserve drippings) salt & pepper ½ small head cabbage chopped or 16 oz coleslaw mix ¼ cup butter melted 1 large onion chopped Boil potatoes until tender, mash with milk & seasonings. Saute cabbage & onion in bacon drippings until tender. Add to mashed potatoes & mix in a bowl. Make a well in center for melted butter or serve with white gravy (example; Pioneer packaged dry mix) TECH TIPS FOR IPAD 1. Update your device s software to the current version, 9.2.1. Tap on settings, then tap general, then tap software update. It will check & tell you if an update is available. If so, tap download, then install. Be sure you are connected to wifi to download. 2. Identify battery hogging apps so that you can either get rid of the app or adjust your usage. Tap settings, tap battery for a display of battery usage in the past 24 hours or you can select past 7 days. 3. Screen shots: If you want to save a picture, article, recipe etc displayed on the screen, press the home button and the sleep wake button for just a few seconds until you hear a click. A picture has been taken & sent to your photos app. Example, a photo is shared on Facebook that you would like, just take a screen shot & then you can treat as if you took the photo with the camera (get prints etc). 4. If your ipad locks up: Hold down home button and wake/sleep button until screen goes black & apple logo appears, then release buttons. MAY YOUR THOUGHTS BE AS GLAD AS SHAMROCKS.
