Last game vs. Taylor - Alief: Typical regular football seasons last for 10 games; however, if we happen to make play-offs be mindful of games being scheduled the week of. There is no team performance at this game typically as this is when the seniors are presented at halftime from Stars, Band & Guard. *Please note - if the senior game falls on a different game night, our rehearsal schedule will be adjusted for this week. Choreographer Day(s) /12-/1: Choreographers have been confirmed for these dates. Clayton & Caitlin are back again for TEAM MODERN! They will use 3 days to teach choreography. Contest...enjoy your holiday break 27 29 30 31 New Year s Eve Skills Check : Team will be evaluated on their ability to perform certain skills. Please refer to the Stars Dance Team Constitution, for details about this evaluation. This will directly relate to the placement in team dances for all dancers, regardless of rank (rookie, veteran or officer). I place individuals based on their level and where I feel they will be most successful as part of the team. If your daughter is placed as an alternate, this does not mean she will never perform she may share a spot with another individual and thus take turns performing at contest. Please note all dancers will perform all team dances at Spring Show. Solo & Ensemble Contest: This is not a team contest; therefore, Stars are not required to attend as a team. Stars are however, strongly encouraged to attend the contest to support officers and soloists! The awards ceremony is required of all participating dancers; only extreme circumstances or emergencies will dismiss a Star from staying for awards. Parent notification prior to contest week is required for extreme circumstances. Fall Dance Clinic: ALL Stars will be participating in this FUNDRAISER! It will be from 8:00-1:00PM. Arrival time to CHS for Stars is 7:30AM. The clinic will last until 1:00 PM. If you re an officer or soloist, you will need to head over to DHS immediately upon conclusion of the clinic. I am registering our entries to be in the afternoon, no earlier than 3:00 PM. This will be a long day for us but on any other contest day, you re up & going from early in the morning already this is great practice for stamina at team contests!

While I will be out, there is a potential that practices will remain as scheduled on these days. Should I be unable to find a FBISD employee to oversee the scheduled rehearsals, I will cancel them. Details to be announced as they happen; your understanding with this is appreciated! 1/7 rehearsal time adjustment: The time for this particular Wednesday is adjusted to account for allowing time for me and the Colonel to make it to TDEA, which begins Wednesday evening. 1/ rehearsal: This is something I have added onto the calendar from previous years. We will be rehearsing in the dance room & the GIRL S GYM (after it s available from Girl s BB practice). Lunch will be from 12:00-12:30. Please remember to bring WATER and snacks to have throughout the day for sustaining your energy levels & hydration. FBDC: Fort Bend Dance Classic!! This is an all day in-district competition, held at Hopson Field House (neighboring Hall Stadium) where the Stars get to compete: an officer routine, solos and of course team ensembles! While this is an all day event, leaving the premises for lunch is strictly prohibited by FBISD and so, a box lunch may be provided like last year at a small cost to your daughter or dancers will be asked to bring sack lunch. Details TBA once we figure out if this will be an option again. Why are 1/22 and 1/29 listed with two times?: Until Thursday evenings are cleared from Basketball events/games, we will proceed with regular afternoon rehearsals. Once I get the go ahead (BB not in playoffs), we will shift to evenings.

Rehearsals will either be from 3:00-:00 or :00-7:00 once scheduled by FBISD, times TBA. Otherwise, if we are not @ Wheeler, please plan on the usual Wednesday rehearsal schedule, which is 2:30 -:00 held at CHS. Contest Sneak Peek: Come check out your daughter s routines before contest! It begins at 7:30 PM, in the Girl s Gym & will last approximately 1 hour. With special guests: JV Twinkles Dance Team!! On this evening, I will be covering DISNEY TRIP information. 1 parent/guardian per Star attending the trip must be present for this. Instead of scheduling a separate meeting or using booster club meeting time, I felt this was the most efficient way to disseminate information to you.

Please keep an eye out for updates to the calendar. All FBISD Dance Teams perform 2 team routines so it ll be a fantastic opportunity to see your daughter dance again! Officer Tryouts: If your daughter chooses to audition to be an officer, this week will be intense but well worth the effort...she will learn so much more from the process! Each year officer auditions are adjusted/changed so that no returning officers have an upper hand as far as knowing everything/what to expect. An informational packet for officer tryouts will be handed out! It will go into detail the times of after school commitments for the audition process as well as guidelines/expectations of each candidate. They will begin at 3:30 and will last approximately 2 hours (depending on the number of applicants). **The letters for officer candidates will be given to on the following day, Friday, March th.** This will allow anyone who may not have been selected to grieve in private and not have to come to school the following day. The Officer Instillation will take place at the current Colonel s home for a gathering of light refreshments and the announcement of ranks for each officer line. The entire team is invited to join! Date for this TBA when officer info packet is handed out. 3/2 & /8 have asterisks : IF the team is working hard & making progress with preparations for Spring Show (which is just two weeks after we return from Disney yikes!) then they may potentially earn these days off!!

Chaperones --- closer to the trip, you will have your own what do I do as a Chaperone? packet. It will list areas where I ll need your assistance during the trip. We will be taking FBISD activity buses to IAH airport on Thurs. morning but all Stars will need to arrange a ride home FROM the airport Sun. evening upon our return home. Failure to set up a ride for your daughter will result in her being left at the airport under airport security care until the arrival of her ride. SPRING SHOW info is listed in MAY.
May 1 1 SPRING SHOW 3 7 8 9 2 SPRING SHOW 10 12 13 JV Audition ( 1-1 dance officers help!) 1 1 1 17 21 22 23 2 2 31 Memorial Day 2 1-1 NEW team booster mtg. :30PM 27 29 30 Spring Show in general : This is quite possibly the most hectic time of year for your daughter. My goal each year is to schedule Spring Show when little to no end of year/ap tests are taking place. The past couple years, I ve been able to do so! However, I am fully aware of the SAT test scheduled for.2.1 with that being said, there are plenty of other times throughout the spring semester when your daughter could ve taken it. Time wise, she will of course be able to take it this day; however, she will be exhausted from dancing the night before & will more than likely go directly to the auditorium after completing the SAT, should she choose to take it that weekend. So choose the SAT that best suits her schedule (academically & Stars). Reacquaint yourself with the Stars Constitution so that you & your daughter are fully aware of the consequences with performing in Spring Show in relation to rehearsal absences, passing all classes, etc. Similar to Cuties we will need all hands on deck when it comes to parent volunteers! This is our second HUGE fundraiser & it is (in my opinion) the most fun! It s the end of the year, so with a lot of senior parents graduating, its best that Junior & Sophomore parents really pitch in we ll be here next year without these senior parents telling us what to do!

It is located at the Marriott Westchase Hotel just off Westheimer and Beltway 8. Officer Camp packets will be handed out to all Dance & Social officers. Cost of camp & various other things will be covered in the packet. Officer parents ---- we will meet briefly at the conclusion of the May booster Club meeting (/2) and discuss a handful of things before school lets out.
