BADMINTON The High School South Gym will be available for Badminton on Thursday evenings. The cost will be $40 per session with a limited number of spaces available. Registration will be for West Windsor residents first. Shuttlecocks and nets will be provided. Participants must bring their own rackets. Dates: Thursdays, September 11 December 4 (No Program 11/6 & 11/27) 9:00-11:00 pm Adults, Ages 18 & up WW-P High School South Old Gym, West Windsor $40 per session Registration is for West Windsor residents first. Registration for the fall session will begin on August 26 for residents of West Windsor (proof of residency will be required). Registration will be in person only. Non-residents may register for the fall session on September 8 (if space is available). FENCING This program is designed for both beginners and intermediate level fencing enthusiasts. Here s a unique opportunity to sharpen your mind and reflexes and stay in shape as well. Our qualified instructors give maximum attention to each student through group training and individual instruction. Learn and practice foil, epee and saber fencing in a friendly and responsible setting. Included are organized bouts that are fun and improve your skills. Basic equipment is provided and a discounted purchase option is also available. FITNESS KICKBOXING This program is for teens (16+) and adults. This 60-minute workout consists of easy-to-learn moves and provides fast results in terms of improved balance, coordination and an increase in energy. Every lesson is an exciting mix of kickboxing, calisthenics and stretching. Plus, you ll learn self-defense as you sweat! Though most of our students don t actually spar, we do everything a top kickboxer does to get in championship shape. Kicking is great for the abs, buns, and thighs. Punching is great for the back, arms and shoulders. Kickboxing is the perfect full-body workout and its fun! ADULT & YOUTH MARTIAL ARTS LESSONS Master Steven Phillips, a 5 th Degree Black Belt with over 30 years of martial arts experience, will introduce his traditional martial arts training with a modern teaching method to give students a challenging and rewarding experience. Master Steven studied under Grand Master Ye Bong Choi, a ninth degree black belt and former Korean champion. This course is designed for the beginner level student and will be available only once to each individual. Registration deadline is one week prior to the start of the class. GOLF ADULT & YOUTH BEGINNERS GOLF LESSONS This five-week program covers all the fundamentals of the game, including proper swing, putting, chipping, sand play, reading the greens, course management and rules. All skill levels are eligible to participate. Equipment will be provided by the Cranbury Golf Club, if necessary. Students should wear loose, comfortable clothing and either golf shoes or sneakers. Through the use of larger golf clubs and tennis ball sized golf balls campers learn the fundamentals of golf in a fun and easy way. All equipment is developmentally appropriate for children of all ages to ensure success while at the same time challenging golfers of all abilities. Participants compete in competitions and drills to make a memorable golf experience. No golf course or driving range needed! MULTI SPORTS (SPORTS SQUIRTS for Preschoolers) SPORTS SQUIRTS (Ages 3-5) Sports Squirts is ideal for the child who wants to try a little of everything. Activities include Soccer, Basketball, Hockey, Lacrosse, T-Ball, Movement and Coordination. All sports are developed through a series of games and activities designed to ensure learning and most importantly: fun, fun and fun! SPECIAL EVENTS SEPTEMBER SEPTEMBER 11 TH MEMORIAL This memorial ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 11 th at the 9-11 memorial located at the Ron Rogers Arboretum at the corner of Clarksville Road and Rt. 571 (Princeton-Hightstown Road) across the street from High School South. The brief ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm. OCTOBER HALLOWEEN TRUNK OR TREAT This event will be held on Saturday, October 25 th at West Windsor Community Park. This is a fun, safe Halloween event where kids trick or treat from car to car for goodies. SPECIAL NEEDS PROGRAMS Adapted Yoga Yoga is a great form of exercise the poses emphasize coordination, flexibility, strength, and good posture, while increasing concentration and body awareness. For teens and adults age 13 and up with special needs. Volunteer helpers will provide assistance during the program. Please bring a yoga mat to class. SWIMMING WHALERS DEVELOPMENTAL SWIM TEAM This pre-competitive swim program will improve stroke technique, introduce competitive skills and allow individuals to progress in a friendly non-competitive atmosphere. Level 1 is for ages 6-10. Swimmers must be able to swim freestyle and backstroke for continuous lengths of the pool. Participants should also be prepared to swim several lengths of the pool each session. Level 2 is for ages 11 and over. Swimmers must be able to swim freestyle and backstroke for four continuous lengths of the pool. Participants should also be prepared to swim several lengths of the pool each session. TENNIS LESSONS Tennis lessons are available to children ages 4-17 and adults ages 18-64. All lessons are directed by PTR certified tennis coaches Sat and Sunil Jagtap. Lessons are conducted at the Hendrickson Drive Tennis complex in West Windsor, New Jersey. Program registration is online only through West Windsor Recreation website www.wwparks-recreation.com. For questions regarding program registration call the West Windsor Recreation at 609-799-6141. Lessons are first-come first-serve and classes fill-up quickly. To avoid disappointment signup early! VOLLEYBALL ADULT COED VOLLEYBALL This popular program features competitive games in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Pick-up games are played on Tuesday evenings at Grover Middle School.
