Buss broke the record for points scored on Jan. 3 at Penn State. She eclipsed former record holder Denise Jackson's 1,917 points set in 1983-84 with her game-high 27 points against the Lady Lions. Currently, Buss is currently eighth amongst active career scorers in the NCAA. WHAT S RETURNING Along with Buss and Cahill, the Hoosiers also return junior Kym Royster (averaged 4.2 ppg., 2.6 rpg.) who appeared in 33 games last year and made five starts at the beginning of 2016-17. Sophomore Bre Wickware also returns for IU, as she made appearances in 33 of 34 games last season. FRESH(MEN) FACES s roster will feature a host of new players including five freshmen - Alexis Johnson, Linsey Marchese, Jaelynn Penn, Keyanna Warthen and Bendu Yeaney - who will make an immediate impact. Overall, the Class of 2021 was been ranked as the No. 13 signing class in the country by ProspectsNation.com. In addition, ESPN, ProspectsNation.com, All-Star Girls Report and Collegiate Girls Basketball Report have all ranked IU as the top class amongst the Big Ten. THREE INK LETTERS FOR #IUWBB picked up three members of the class of 2022 on Wednesday during the early signing period. Grace Berger (Louisville, Ky.), Chanel Wilson (Powder Springs, Ga.) and Aleksa Gulbe (Riga, Latvia) have all signed their national letters of intent to play for the Hoosiers next season. #IUTALY The Hoosiers traveled abroad to Italy this summer as part of its first foreign tour in eight years August 2-11. The team visited Rome, Vatican City, Florence and Venice while playing three games against foreign opponents. BUSS TAKES PART IN U23 TRIALS Buss was selected to take part in USA Basketball Women s U23 Trials in Colorado Spring, Colo. July 31-August 4. It marked the first ever event Buss attended with the national program, as she was one of 37 college-aged athletes to be invited to team trials. WISE AND PATBERG JOIN THE PROGRAM picked up two transfers during the offseason in junior Brenna Wise and redshirt sophomore Ali Patberg. Wise spent her first two seasons at Pittsburgh while Patberg comes after two seasons at Notre Dame. Both will sit this season due to NCAA transfer rules. 5
