Lurgan Town Football Club Winning Isn t Everything - Issue 17: February 2016 @lurgantownfc.com www.lurgantownfc.com #heartonthesleeve info@lurgantownfc.com THE START OF A NEW ERA AT LURGAN TOWN History was made on Sunday 7th February 2016 when a ladies team representing Lurgan Town took to the field for the very first time. Ballynahinch Ladies were the opponents and Town ran out eventual 5-0 winners. Tina Brush opened the scoring with a fine finish. This was followed by a hat trick from 2015 Championship Player of the Year Kerry Taggart. Kerry s 3rd goal being the pick of the bunch. Dani Creaney also scored her first goal in a Town shirt with a typical strikers finish. Coach Davy Welshman commented We would like to make a special mention to the young Ballynahinch keeper who had a great game and made some fantastic saves. Davy continued A big thank you to everybody who braved the weather to support the girls. Our first friendly was made so special by all the guys at Lurgan Town Football Club. Page 4 www.lurgantownfc.com Winning Isn t Everything @lurgantownfc UNDER 11s LOSE OUT IN CUP FINAL In the much anticipated Mid Ulster Youth League Cup Final, our U11 MU Predators side unfortunately lost 3-1 to a very strong Dungannon Youth. As you can see from the photos, the boys weren't too disappointed. And neither they should be. For those of you that don't know, the boys are actually aged Under 10 and so they are playing a year up. We have no doubt that they will have more opportunities to add to their already impressive trophy collection.
