Rhonda Mangan s licence to ride in races was suspended for Tasmanian race meeting. Rhonda Mangan rider of Porto pleaded guilty to a further charg e under AR 37(a) careless riding the particulars being that on the home turn she attempted to take a run where there was insufficient room between Letters and All Cheer contacting that gelding and having to ease her mount. Stewards deemed the interferenc e to be of a medium level and the carelessness to be of a high level. Rhonda Mangan s licence to ride in races was suspended for 2 Tasmanian race meetings. Both suspensions were to be served concurrently to commence at midnight 7 September 24 and to ex pire at midnight 2 September 24. Letters was caught wide in the early stages. Letters hung out throughout and commenced to give ground from the metres before being eased down in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination of Letters revealed no obvious abnormalities. Connections advised that they will evaluate the immediate racing future of Letters. Approaching the 4 metres Das Good (A Darmanin) shifted out to avoid the heels of All Cheer which shifted out slightly after being con tacted by Porto this resulted in St ar Rocket being tightened and taken out onto Summer Downs and Decent Deal. Anthony Darmanin was issued with a severe reprimand under AR 37(a) careless riding and advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear of others when in similar circumstances. Rocket an inquiry was adjourned into the reasons for Star Rocket appearing to be checked near the 4 metres as B Muhcu was granted permission to be further represented by his master. RACE 3 BOAGS DRAUGHT 3YO & UPWARDS CG&E MAIDEN PLATE Flying Stevie over raced in the early stages. Keith s Boy laid out in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 6 metres Keith s Boy had to be checked when Sapphire Storm displayed a tendency to lay in and Keith s Boy displayed a tendency to lay out when being restrained resulting in Flying Stevie Sultan Or King and Baku being inconvenienced. Flying Stevie laid in approaching the 2 metres. Unparalleled laid in near the metres. Bulent Muhcu rider of Eternal Speed was reminded of his obligations not to use a whip action above shoulder height. David Pires rider of Unparalleled which performed below expectat ions stated that he was disappointed with the run and the gelding failed to respond to his riding from the 4 metres. A post race veterinary examination of Flying Stevie revealed the gelding had sustained a skin abrasion on the tendon above the right hock. Connections were advised that a veterinary certificate must be submitted prior to Flying Stevie racing again. RACE 4 HYGAIN 3YO & UPWARDS F&M MAIDEN PLATE
Sweet Taffy which has not raced for over 2 years was examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to race today. Acting on a report from the starter who stated that Sh bourne Bel was difficult to load and after considering that at its most recent start it had received a warning for a similar offence the connections we re notified that it must trial to the Stewards satisfaction prior to racing again. Sweet Taffy raced greenly throughout. Approaching the 8 metres Last Toast had to check off heels when Sweet Taffy shifted in abruptly away from Lancashire. Connections were advised that a warning has been placed on the racing manners of Sweet Taffy. Scrivete raced wide throughout. Rasit Yetimova rider of Kenbiki which performed below market expectations explained that the mare travelled well early but failed to respond to his riding from the 4 metres and in his opinion may be at the end of her preparation. RACE BRENDON MCCOULL DRC LEADING JOCKEY BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP Royal Beluga jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Darchill was slow to begin (L).
