Fan voting for the national award ends Tuesday, May 9. EC34 In August 20 the Marist College community unexpectedly lost men s lacrosse midfielder Edward Coombs prior to his sophomore year. Coombs lost his life in a car accident near his hometown of Horsham Township, Pennsylvania. Each member of the Marist men s lacrosse team wears a patch of a black circle with the white initials EC on their jersey to honor his life. The Red Foxes started a new tradition in 20, choosing a different senior at the beginning of each season to wear Coombs no. 34. Former Marist goalie Dave Scarcello was the inaugural recipient of this honor followed by attack Joseph Radin in 206. This year Eddie s high school teammate at HatboroHorsham, current Marist senior captain Jimmy Murphy, will wear the no. 34 jersey. Eddie was a wellrespected member of the Marist community by staff and students.
