Shane just looks relieved! Pretty Ladies with Pretty Buckles! Special congratulations to the inaugural Dixie Cup Challenge winners! Our Men s Champion for 2012 is Smokey Shane and our Ladies Champion is Diamond Lilly. I m here to tell you folks that Shane had some serious HEAT put on him by Runner-Up Macon A. Longshot and Reserve Champion General Jubal Early. It was a race all the way to the December match, but in the end, Shane gave up deer hunting and prevailed. On the Ladies side, the Runner-Up buckle went to Lady Stillfinger. She came out of the pack and finished the year REALLY strong. It s been a real pleasure to watch her get better and better each month. Way to go, Lady! Now, here s what you need to know for the 2013 series that starts this month: IF YOU WON A BUCKLE THIS YEAR, YOU MUST SIT OUT THE DIXIE CUP CHALLENGE FOR ONE YEAR BEFORE YOU CAN COMPETE AGAIN! This will make it a wide open match for the new season, so Runners to your marks, Get set, GO!! Also, Slick has announced a new series for the overall REGULATOR of the year. Remember, that to compete in the regulator category and earn points, you must finish in the top five of a monthly contd.
to even get into the Regulator category for the next month. This should be a great new series with some cutthroat competition! In other news, look for new stages to come to the range in 2013 as well. While we were sad to see the closing of Cypress Creek range, we sure do appreciate Silver Wolf and Choctaw Rosie for donating their Rosie s Bathhouse stage to Jackson Hole. And a big thanks to Slick, Will E. Fixit, Doc Cooper, and Jubal for coming to help take the stage down and move it on a cold, rainy Saturday morning. Also, Slick picked up some new targets for the range while he was in Florida. See pics below. Yup, folks, as great as 2012 was at Jackson Hole, it sure looks like 2013 is going to be even better. Turnout at the matches continues to grow, new shooters are picking up the sport, and the old hands are shooting better and better. Ugly Guy with a Pretty Buckle! Silver Wolf, Slick, and Will E. at work! We managed to move the whole stage with only minor injuries! and the 2012 Sharpshooter of the Year Buckle goes to. So would you rather be lucky, or good? Remember that the rules for the Sharpshooter Buckle was that you had to shoot a clean match to get your name in the bucket for the drawing, the more matches you shot clean, the more times your name would be in, and YOU MUST BE PRESENT AT THE DRAWING TO WIN! Well, I left San Diego, California on Friday morning at 7:00 a.m. and drove straight through to be back in time for the drawing on Saturday. Sure enough Hammer Rock reached in and drew out the name of Wild Big Bill! (not present) draw again Bent Barrel Betty! (not present) draw again Paco Bell! Marshall finds GOLD at Sutter s Mill near Sacramento, CA starting the California Gold Rush. NOVEMBER MATCH REPORT Well, it s fitting that the December match winners and the Dixie Series winners were the same. Shane and Lily finished off the year in style with impressive wins. Macon and Jubal had a close race for a distant second place on the Men s side and Irish Leadslinger and Concho Pearl had a close battle for an equally distant second place on the ladies side. Time for us mortals to get to practicing! We always love to see Leatherneck in his Santa suit in December, too. It got a little warm and he had to come out of the coat, but he wears red velvet better than anyone I know. See you at the range! SantaNeck was joined by Pearl the Red-Antlered Reindeer in bringing Christmas cheer to the match this year!
