Performance Any improvement is worthwhile, but have to take into account within-athlete variation (within athlete CV) At the elite level, the smallest worthwhile change in performance is about half the typical variation in an athlete's performance from competition to competition, or ~0.5% Hopkins, Sportscience, 2004
