OUR HISTORY The Wodonga Raiders evolved from the original Kergunyah Football Club who, with struggling numbers made the courageous move into Wodonga in 1975 to remain in the Tallangatta League. Keeping the club going under new identity Wodonga Demons wearing the Demons strip of Red Guernsey with white V began the journey. Following years were challenging for the club, paying its way for the facilities & ground use of Martin Park, forever under the influence of the Wodonga Bulldogs domain. A change of club colours to the traditional Demons Red & Blue & Premiership success came in 1987 for the club who found a desire to progress to the Ovens & Murray League. This was viewed as the best option to progress the growing number of junior footballers looking for this opportunity. After plenty of determined work, & much resistance from traditional O & M clubs, the club was admitted in 1989. An identity change was required, including a further name change for the club. Energetic supporters presented the concept of Wodonga Raiders, retaining the Red & Blue that was adopted & set the scene for the Ovens & Murray s newest club. The following years were difficult for the club competing in the best country leaque, but a first finals appearance in 1994, a Grand final in 1997 & a Premiership in 1998 gave due reward to so many loyal & hardworking club supporters. Through this period, tremendous hardworking efforts set the foundations for the magnificent facilities enjoyed at Birallee Park today. Season 2015 sees the club entering a new era having welcomed on board popular former Sydney Swans Team of Century player Daryn Cresswell. Coaching experience with both Brisbane, Geelong & other Leaques will be our stepping stone to renewed success & opportunity for our ever growing number of local sporting talent. The Wodonga Raiders are a huge part of our local community. Amalgamating the Football & Netball Clubs this year providing opportunities in the Ovens & Murray Senior, Reserves, under 18 football & 4 Grades of Netball competition supported by Under 16, 14 & 12 Junior club teams. 2

TESTIMONIALS OUR PRESIDENT - Nic Conway Loyal sponsors are the life blood of any sporting organisation & we are extremely fortunate to have so many long term sponsors at Wodonga Raiders. The Birallee Tavern & ATS Accountants have been with us for over 20 years along with many others who have strong supportive histories with us. As a united club we work very hard to communicate with our sponsors needs; we provide excellent value for the sponsorship dollar; we deliver everything we promise & even that bit more. There are many great people involved with the Raiders offering an environment to associate both your business and family. HADAR HOMES - Travis Cartwright - Sales Manager Our sponsorship from Hadar s point of view has been a great success in not only giving us exposure ( really put Hadar on the map ) but through networking we have been able to create some strong partnerships with our suppliers & sponsors with the club. The club exceeded our expectations on ensuring that every opportunity to get Hadar s name out to the market (in a relevant way ) was both maximised & capitalised on. We have committed for another 12 months & I can see this partnership continuing for many more years to come. Go Raiders in 2015 COMMUNITY - Carl Friedlieb - RELAY FOR LIFE Chairman Border Relay For Life have been proud to call Raiders at Birallee Park our Wodonga home for the past 12 years.the quality function centre, first class grass surface and expansive car park which are managed by a dedicated generous group of volunteers makes Raiders our preferred venue on the Border for our Community event and a local asset we are extremely privileged to benefit from. FOOTBALL CLUB - Daryn Cresswell - Senior Coach I am very excited by the challenge that has been presented to me by the Wodonga Raiders Football Club. My career has been filled with experiences of joining clubs who were under performing and being part of the turnaround in fortunes. I went to Nth Hobart as a player and we went from last to Premiers in one season. Geelong and Brisbane Senior Assistance coaching positions. Sydney Swans we went from a rabble to a Grand Final while I was there and I took on Palm Beach in Qld who were a struggling club and we played in two Grand Finals including a Premiership. I was also the inaugural coach of the Tasmanian VFL side. My experience says it takes hard work and discipline from players and coaches and it takes strong support from our members as well as the wider community. What I have seen in my short time at the Raiders is that we have great backing and support, so I am confident that people who are involved with the club this season are going to enjoy the experience. Bring on 2015. NETBALL CLUB - Simone Eddington - Senior Coach It s an exciting time to be involved with Raiders Football Netball Club. there is a change in the air, & everybody feels positive about the future. You only need to look at our 16 & under team in netball & realise just how bright it is. I am fortunate to be involved in such a great club & am hanging on for this amazing ride we are all about to embark on. Go Raiders...Every Heart Beats True. 10
