Franco was an Olympian in 1996, placing ninth with Lopes. Franco is third in career FIVB earnings ($872,423) for 142 international starts. For his career, Franco is 15-15 in gold medal matches with 50 medals and 62 final four appearances. Conde, the SWATCH defensive player of the year in 2006, is one of 15 players to compete in all three Beach Volleyball Olympics as he played with Eduardo Martinez at the Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000 Games. Baracetti is competing in his 148 FIVB tournament with seven gold medals, 21 podiums and 31 semi-final appearances with $513,085 in earnings to rank 15th. This is the 36thFIVB men s event that featured four different countries in the semi-finals, including the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Olympic Games. This is the third-time this season that four different countries have reach the semi-finals, including Estonia, Switzerland, Russia and Australia in Croatia and Brazil, Netherlands, China and Russia in Norway.
