The event starts on Wednesday, March 19th 2014 with the first Training Day. Thursday, March 20th is the second Training Day. Qualification takes place on Friday, March 21st and finals on Saturday, March 22nd. Sunday, March 23rd will be a Reserve Day. World Cup Entries Entries will be accepted from National Ski Associations with the FIS quotas and rules. Please submit the provisional number of your competition team (including competitors and officials) and the names of participants till February 9th 2014 The final number of your competition team (including competitors and officials) and the name of participants must be submitted to the Organizing Committee no later than March 13th 2014 The FIS online registration system is accessed through the FIS Homepage www.fis-ski.com Member Section FIS has established nation quotas for World Cup. Location Silvaplana (1.815m) with its skiresort Corvatsch (up to 3.303m) is located in the Engadine, Switzerland. Engadine is a famous valley in the southern Alps with a long alpine skiing tradition and St. Moritz as its main town. Besides the annual female FIS Ski World Cup races, St. Moritz will host the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in 2017. But as the alpine World Cup slopes are located on the other side of the valley, Corvatschs goal is to establish an outstanding Freeski event in the Engadine valley. As Corvatsch is a big mountain resort, the slopestyle course will be located on an high altitude with its start on 2.700m. Slopestyle Course After last years competition the local organizing committee has decided to sign up new designers for the snowpark and slopestyle course. This year the German company Schneestern is in charge for the design and construction of the World Cup slopestyle course in Silvaplana. Schneestern is the European market-leading construction specialist for freestyle snow facilities (Air&Style/Innsbruck, freestyle.ch/zurich, Nine Knights/Livigno) and will bring in all their know how to integrate the newest innovations to the Silvaplana slopestyle course. Moreover, Corvatsch has a new and very experienced snow cat driver. Jeremy Carpenter has worked for Snow Park Technologies, the US-leading company in building terrain parks (Winter X-Games). Since this winter the US-citizen is the leading cat driver in the snowpark Corvatsch. 4
Side-events Two open freestyle sessions will take place during the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup Corvatsch: On Friday night, March 21st we will see a rail jam on the Corvatsch night slope. And on Sunday, March 23rd we will hold the Halfpipe session Pipe Games in the Corvatsch superpipe. Everyone can participate no matter if amateur or pro. Riders and winners of the side-events will receive their prizes in cash on site! The common fun for freeskiing is paramount. Moreover there will be rider partys, on the mountain and in St. Moritz, from Thursday to Saturday. Besides the Poker Night on Thursday you should not miss, acts like DJ Mittone, DJ Fu (Wax Wreckaz), Snook, Drunken Masters und Flaming Fingaz will fire up all party people. Accomodation Tourism organisation Engadin St. Moritz can offer reduced prices for accomodation (80 CHF to 100 CHF) with halfboard prices depending on hotel standard. Try booking your lodging as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee a good price accomodation for late bookers. First come, first served. Transport Teams are responsible for their own transport. There are several airports in more or less the same distance to Engadine valley: Zurich, Switzerland; Milano, Italy; and Innsbruck, Austria. All these Airports are 3 to 3,5 hours driving distance to St. Moritz. Onsite Registration/Accreditation Registration will be held at Corvatsch valley station of the cable car. (Adress: Via dal Corvatsch, CH-7513 Silvaplana). Every competitor has to pay 120 CHF administration fee. All athletes and coaches will be provided with food vouchers for official training and competition days (Wednesday to Saturday). All athletes and coaches will get lifttickets from Wednesday to Sunday and a Snow Night ticket for Friday night skiing. All athletes and coaches will have free access to all freeski partys and will get a welcome package. Team Captains Meeting Team Captains Meeting will be held in the assembly hall of Hotel Nira Alpina opposite of Corvatsch valley station. First Team Captains Meeting is on Tuesday, March 18th at 19.00. Bibs All competitors must wear bibs during the competition and at the awards ceremony. 6
Anti-Doping Anti-doping control may be conducted for this event. Accident Insurance All competitors must have own medical insurance. The Organizing Committee, sponsors, suppliers, their agents, employees and volunteers, the FIS and Swiss Ski and Snowboard Association decline any responsibility for accidents, damaged or lost equipment and second and third party claims during the event. Liability All athletes, officials and members of National Associations who attend and participate in the event shall do so at their own risk. The Organizing Committee, sponsors, suppliers, their agents, employees and volunteers, the FIS and Swiss Ski and Snowboard Association shall not be responsible for any losses or injuries incurred or suffered by any athlete, official or other person in conjunction with the organizing and staging of the event. Prize money Prize money for the Corvatsch FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup Slopestyle will be 40.000 CHF. The prize-winners will receive their prize money at the Race Office on Corvatsch valley station. 7
