Using the Tripd Initial Set Up T begin using the tripd, pen the carrying bag using the zipper and pull the tripd ut f prtective plastic bag. Yur tripd is stred in the inverted psitin. Invert each leg and adjust the center clumn. Height Adjustment Adjusting the height f the tripd can be dne by simply twisting the rubber knbs lcated n the legs, clckwise t lck r cunterclckwise t unlck. Extend the legs dwn t the desired height, then lck the rubber knbs. (Nte: When adjusting the height, try t extend the thicker leg segment first, as they are thicker and prvide greater stability.) If after yu have fully extended the legs, yu have still nt reached the maximum perating height, yu may adjust the center clumn up. Quick Tip: Yu can unlck all segments n each leg at nce by grabbing them at the same time and then twisting cunter clckwise t unlck. Extend the legs then lck each knb. T quickly retract the legs when they are extended, unlck each knb n ne leg starting with the thicker prtin f the leg, retract the leg then tighten all knbs with ne hand turning clckwise.
The Quick Release Plate T remve the quick release plate, turn the quick release knb cunter clckwise until it is fully rtated. Press the silver safety release buttn, and gently slide camera plate ut. T attach the camera t the quick release plate, hld camera securely in ne hand, and lcate the 1/4 screw hle n bttm f yur camera. Secure the screw f the quick release plate n the camera by turning it clckwise. T insert quick release plate back nt the ball head, first make sure the quick release knb is fully turned cunterclckwise. Press in silver safety buttn and slide the release plate int place. Turn the quick release plate knb clckwise until plate is secured tightly. Panning & Tilting Tilting T cntrl the ball head tilt, yu can rtate the ball head adjustment knb clckwise fr greater resistance, r cunter clckwise fr less resistance. Turn ball head adjustment knb until the desired resistance is achieved. (Nte: Fr prtrait shts, there is a slit n the cylinder f the ball head, where yu can put the ball head fr prtrait rientatin.)
Panning- Fr smth cnsistent panning, tighten r lsen the ball head panning adjustment knb until the right amunt f resistance is btained. Turning the knb clckwise will tighten it and make panning slw and firmer. Turning the knb cunter-clckwise t lsen it will make panning fast and easy. (Nte: Finding the right amunt f panning resistance will give yu smth and ptimal speed fr great captures. We als recmmend the use f sand bags t prvide greater stability when panning.) Inverted Shting There are tw methds fr inverted shting. The first methd allws the use f the lcking legs feature. The secnd methd is quicker and easier t setup but des nt allw the legs t lck int psitins. First methd- The first methd invlves remving the center clumn and inverting it upside dwn. First, lsen the center clumn height adjustment lck knb. Next, unscrew the accessry hk n the bttm f the center clumn t remve. Remve the center clumn by sliding it up and ut f the center. Nw, slide center clumn in upside dwn, making sure t align the slit n the center clumn with the tab inside the
center clumn shaft hle. Yu may have t rtate the clumn until yu feel the tab align prperly with the center clumn indentin. Adjust the shaft until the right height is achieved then retighten the center clumn height adjustment knb t secure. Yu may reattach the accessry hk n the tp t prevent lss. Reverse the prcess t use the tripd in the nrmal perating psitin. Secnd methd- Fr the secnd methd, start by lsening the center clumn height adjustment knb and pull up n the center clumn until it is fully extended then tighten the knb t secure it in place. Next, invert the legs by pressing in the grey buttn leg lcks then rtate the legs all the way arund t the ppsite angle. D this fr all three legs then turn yur tripd upside dwn.
Hw t remve the head f the Tripd T remve the ball head frm the legs, first ensure the pan adjustment knb is fully tightened. Next, grasp the ball head with ne hand and the tripd legs with the ther and rtate the ball head cunter clckwise t unscrew it frm the legs. T reinstall, simply attach the ball head by munting it n the 3/8" screw then rtate it clckwise until it is fully seated n the center clumn. Strage Invert the legs using ne f the methds abve. Stre the tripd in the carry case prvided t prtect it. Applying weight t increase tripd stability The tripd is designed with a special spring laded hk lcated at the bttm f the center clumn. By attaching weight n the hk, the stability f the tripd can be increased. The weight can be in the frm f a sandbag, accessry bag, camera bag, etc. Care & Maintenance Clean the tripd with a damp clth. (Nte leg maintenance: In the event sand r dirt gets stuck in yur tripd, the leg may becme hard t extend and retract. This can be rectified by disassembling the legs. Twist the tp rubber knb f the leg that is stuck cunterclckwise, until it detaches frm the
threads. Be careful as the tw black tabs may fall ut. When dne remving any sand, line tabs with the indentins inside the hles at the end f the leg, and insert the leg back int the stand.) Each leg is designed with an Allen blt. If the legs becme lse after lng term use, yu may adjust the tensin n the leg attachment screws/pivt pints. Cautin: There is a tipping risk fr the fully extended tripds. This can be due t mving the tripds while fully extended, things such as uneven surfaces r wind. T reduce the risk f tipping ver, we recmmend placing ne tripd leg facing the same directin as the camera r the heavy part f munted equipment t balance the weight. We als recmmend purchasing sand bags r weights t set n the tripd legs t hld the tripd in place. Ravelli guarantees the tripd nly and is nt liable fr damage caused t backdrps, cameras, lighting, r any ther items. Cautin: Always ensure all leg lck knbs, center clumn knb and ball head knbs are securely tightened befre placing it n a firm surface. * The included bubble level is a guide. The exact level psitin f the tripd depends n the extensin f the legs, the angle f the legs, whether r nt the surface the tripd is sitting n is level r nt etc. Als, the bubble level is mid-level n the tripd head and slightly ff f dead center. Thus, it may read perfectly level with the tripd head pinting in ne directly and then read smething ther than perfectly level during a pan. Als, it is pssible fr the tripd t be level at the base f the head where the level is but ff slightly abve r belw the level. If it is crucial t the user t have perfect true level, we recmmend using a prfessinal separate level at least 6 inches in length r mre.
