Commercial Regulations- Update The South Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Councils recently approved Spiny Lobster Amendment 10 Establishes Annual Catch Limits (ACLs) and Accountability Measures (AMs) as required by the Magnunson-Stevens Act. Annual Catch Target increased to 6.6 million pounds Endangered Species Act Actions- Delayed Action: Limit Spiny Lobster fishing in certain areas in the EEZ off Florida Action : Require gear markings so all spiny lobster trap lines in the EEZ off Florida are identifiable Action : Allow the public to remove derelict or abandoned spiny lobster traps found in the EEZ off Florida
