1 2016 Off Season Official calendar can be found on LynxPride.org Football>Schedules>Off Season Lincoln Strength Schedule (Beginning following Thanksgiving) Monday/Wednesday: 6:15 AM Saturday: 8:00 AM Weight Room Schedule The weight room will be closed after school. You will be expected to complete the morning workouts assigned on Monday/Wednesday/Saturday. You can make up the workouts for 0 points during PE. If you have a weightlifting class you will use this time to complete auxiliary workouts. Athletic Locker Privileges Athletes out for a winter sport will maintain continued use of their athletic locker. All other athletes will have the ability to earn a locker. * GPA from Tri 2 and Tri 3 will be averaged for the GPA points. Points will be equal to GPA x 5. ** If you participate AND finish the season in good standing you may earn the following points per sport: Winter: Wrestling 25 Basketball 15 Swimming/Bowling 7.5 Spring: Track 15 Soccer 10 Tennis 7.5 Summer: Baseball 15 The maximum amount of points possible is currently 179 (Excluding extra credit/community service.)below the participation expectations are listed along with rewards for our dedicated athletes. *NOTE: While the point system is completely optional, so is playing time. Individuals who reach the point expectations below will be rewarded for their efforts. Expectations for Rising Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores: 1. 112.5+ points prior to the 1st Varsity game. 2. 102.5+ points prior to the 2nd Varsity game. 3. 95+ points prior to the 3rd Varsity game. 4. 90+ points prior to the 4th Varsity game. Players with 123+ points will be checked out a travel bag for the season Players with 135+ points will be eligible to become team captains for the 2015 Season Players with 150+ points will receive a custom Lynx Leader T Shirt along with a group picture shared on Lynx Football Twitter/Facebook/LynxPride Website If the team AVERAGES more than 125 prior to the first game, the team will be allowed to wear the helmet stripes The above expectations do not apply to rising 9th graders and the point totals are subject to change slightly due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. The expectation is that you attend as many workouts as possible during the off season. Increased attendance, increases success. All players who transfer to Abraham Lincoln will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Students currently enrolled at Abraham Lincoln need to work towards the expectations above.
2016 Off Season As a program we are committed to our students involvement in the classroom and on the athletic field. Individual success and program success starts with commitment and dedication. Listed on the first two pages are the expectations for Abraham Lincoln football players. You ll notice that there are a variety of ways our athletes can earn points. The following is a breakdown of how we arrived at our game 1 point expectations. 12.5 GPA : We expect our student athletes to maintain a 2.5 GPA or Above. 70 Workouts : We expect our athletes to be at 80% or more of our off season workouts. This includes summer. This will be adjusted during the year to to take into account events. IE: Snow Days. This number MAY be lower for athletes that are in season during the year, however the number should rise closer to 100% during the summer. 15 Multi Sport : encourages and supports the participation of multi sport athletes. We feel the value of time management and COMPETITION can be enhanced through the participation of multiple sports. Multi sport athletes will be credited with dedication points through the aforementioned program. 10 Progress Reports: Students can earn 10 points by simply having the progress reports (attached) filled out and signed by their teachers at mid term and end of term. These dates are listed on the LynxPride calendar and include both 2nd and 3rd trimesters (2.5 points each.) 5 Signed Form: 5 points will be earned by turning in this agreement signed by the athlete and parent. Deadline: 11/24/2016. 112.5 Total: The sum of the above guidelines and expectations prior to game 1.
