INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL SPORT FEDERATION & CITY OF ATHENS 4 th ISF WORLD EDUCATIONAL GAMES 31/03 05/04/2017 Greece BULLETIN 3 We have pleasure in sending you Bulletin 3 of the 4 th ISF World Educational Games, under the aegis of ISF, which will take place from 31 st March to 5 th April 2017 in the Cities of Athens, Olympia and Marathon in Greece. H.E. Minister of Tourism, Greece, Ms Elena Kountoura has granted these 4 th ISF World Educational Games her Aegis. The 4 th ISF World Educational Games are organised by ISF, International Olympic Academy, Municipalities of Alimos, Athens, Ancient Olympia and Marathon, the Region of Western Greece, the Thoukididios Culture and Sport Organisation of Alimos, the Culture Sports, and Youth Organisation of Athens (OPANDA) and the Panhellenic Sport Teachers Union (PEPFA), according to the International School Sport Federation rules. 1. PARTICIPATION This bulletin contains further information to that published in bulletins 1 and 2. The following countries have already indicated an interest in taking part in this event: update 4 th March 2017 Brazil, Bulgaria, China P.R., Cyprus, England, Estonia, France, Georgia, Italy, Slovakia and Special Olympics Great Britain. Registration is still open for countries that did not register yet. If your country intends to participate you must register through ERAS by 15 th March at the latest (phase 1, 2 and 3).
2. Intercultural Festival 2.1 Delegations are required to take part in an International Get-together organised with the aim of encouraging exchanges between the different cultures of participating countries. The young people are invited to introduce and to promote their countries and their culture in an original way. Each delegation is to organise a stand at the Tourist Fair on the theme Suppose you came to spend your holidays in my country. This presentation may be made in the form of leaflets, video, CD, photos or other original ideas, for example by offering a taste of typical culinary specialties (dishes, drinks, ). In addition, each delegation may, if it wishes, introduce a facet of its country s culture on stage (the stage is yours dance, songs, sketches ) maximum 5 minutes. 2.2 It is a privilege to have with us, as ISF Ambassador Ms. Rosa Mota, the Best Woman Marathon Runner Ever. 2.3 The 4 th ISF World Educational Games event is, one more time, supported by Save The Dream. Save the Dream has been conceived by the International Centre for Sport Security, in partnership with the Qatar Olympic Committee, to promote and protect the core values of sport for young people at a global level. 2.4 A special IOA Educational Programme will be conducted in Ancient Olympia by IOA tutors. All delegations are requested to have a preparation research regarding Olympic History and Olympic Values, before their arrival, so it will be easier for them to follow and interface during the IOA Educational Programme. 3. Board, Lodging and Services 3.1. All the students and their coaches and additional adults will be accommodated in 2 to 4 bedded rooms, for 3 nights in Athens and 2 nights in Olympia (IOA Premises). Adults acting as Heads of Delegation will be accommodated with their delegation in single rooms. 3.2. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be taken at the respective accommodation premises. Alternatively, if necessary following the program, it can be in a restaurant on the spot or a lunch box can be provided. Arrival day: lunch and/or dinner (according to arrival time) Other days: breakfast (hotel), lunch dinner (hotel or restaurant or lunch box) Departure day: breakfast lunch or packed meal (according to departure time) 3.3. A medical service will be available throughout the duration of the Championship. 3
3.4. All participating students must complete the attached use of image consent form which has to be signed by a parent/legal guardian. Without this form participation in the event is not possible. 4. Finances and Insurance 4.1. The fees payable per person and per night amount to 50 EUR in accordance with current ISF regulations. The total amount due per person is 290 (250 + 40) EUR, less the amount of the deposit previously paid. For those arriving on 30 th March 50 EUR plus will be charged, thus the total amount of 340 EUR. 4.2. Countries that did not pay the deposit yet, have to pay it into the ISF account (see bulletin 1) by 15 th March at the latest. All bank charges are the responsibility of the delegations. The balance has to be paid in cash in EURO by the Head of Delegation on arrival at the accreditation. Payment by bank cards and /or credit cards will not be accepted. Payment by bank transfer is not possible! 4.3. Each member of the delegation must pay an ISF levy of 40 EUR in accordance with current ISF regulations. This sum is to be paid to the Organising Committee before the start of the event, cash on arrival or previously by bank transfer to the ISF deposit bank account (see bulletin 1) by 15 th March at the latest. All bank charges are the responsibility of the delegations. 4.4. For the maximum 4 additional adults the following regulation applies: - for a single room 100 EUR per night, - for a double/twin room (HOD + 1 additional person) 50 EUR per night each, - for a double/twin room (teacher + 1 additional person) 50 EUR per night each, - for a double/twin room (2 additional persons) 50 EUR per night each. Requests are to be made by the country concerned. 4.6. Each country is required to provide insurance for each member of its delegation. At a minimum the insurance is to cover civil liability, material damage and medical costs. The Head of Delegation has to provide the respective Insurance Document to the OC, and no delegation will be accepted to participate without providing this document. 5. SCHOOL SPORT FOUNDATION 5.1. The ISF Executive Committee in Rome, Italy on 28 th October 2014 approved the creation of the ISF School Sport Foundation http://www.schoolsportfoundation.org/ Fundraising for the Foundation will be set up at different occasions. For this we call on your solidarity. 4
One of the occasions is a Charity Gala Dinner that will be organised during the ISF World Schools Championship. Heads of Delegation will be invited to participate in the Charity Gala Dinner and will be asked to pay an extra contribution of 50 for taking part. The Organising Committee will then pay the collected money into the Foundation s account. 5.2. A second way to raise funds for the School Sport Foundation is a free contribution that you can add to the 40 ISF levy of the participants in the World Schools Championships. You can add 5, 10 or 15 per participant to the ISF levy to pay. Instead of paying 40, you thus pay 45, 50 or 55 per participant. The Organising Committee will pay the surplus into the ISF School Sport Foundation s account. In this way everybody will contribute to this good cause. We thank you in advance for your appreciated cooperation. 5.3. To help the Organising Committee to process your payment correctly please complete the form 'payment overview' in attachment and send it to the LOC by e-mail. You will also find an example to guide you completing the form. 5.4. NEW! At the Executive Committee meeting in Mumbai, India last December, it was approved that each delegation participating in an ISF event should bring some sporting goods that will be collected to donate to a local school in need. For further information you can contact the OC. 6. PROGRAMME See the provisional programme attached. 7. COMMITMENTS TO BE HONOURED BY DELEGATIONS 7.1. Each participant is required to be present throughout the duration of the event. 7.2. Each participant is obliged to take part also in all of the non-sport activities. 7.3. Each participant undertakes to respect all other participants and to take part in the Unified Games. 8. PRIZE-GIVING Each participant will receive a commemorative certificate. As it is an Education through Sport event, no medals will be presented. 9. VISA INFORMATION Please check if your country needs visa to enter Greece. 5
10. REGISTRATION The electronic entry registration form 3 (click here) should be duly completed on behalf of the organisation responsible for school sport at the latest by 15 th March 2017. The ISF decided to replace the actual Electronic Registration and Accreditation System (ERAS) by a new more efficient ERAS which would be operational from 15 th March 2017. We will keep you informed as the URL can change. Your username and password to enter ERAS were sent to you when you received bulletin 1. Personal e-mail addresses of the Head of Delegation, teacher, participants and/or their parents/legal guardians provided through ERAS registration 3 will allow the ISF to send the latest news of the event. Important topics such as the arrival guide, phone numbers, weather forecast, currency exchange, livestreaming, place of the competitions, results and training schedules among other things will be referred to. The e-mails provided are the key to an efficient communication about the event. The ISF guarantees that the e-mails will not be used for any other purpose. Do not forget to send/bring with you the consent form for the use of images!
