Message from the President: Dear Family & Friends: Congratulations to our 2017 Bailey Scholars! The Bailey Family Foundation received over 3,200 applications for the 2017 term. Thank you to our team of evaluators who reviewed and scored each one. We couldn t have awarded Kyle Bailey 550 scholarships this year without them. I am looking forward to meeting some of our newest recipients at our annual Bailey Scholar Reception in May. It s always a great event. I hope you had a great start to the new year. Please enjoy this edition of the Bailey Family Foundation Newsletter. With the help of our Scholarship Selection Committee, we reviewed and scored over 3,200 applications this session. NEWS & UPDATES Scholarship Recipients and Friends of the Foundation: Diaz, Alexandra: writes, I just started my final semester at the University of Central Florida where in just four months, I will graduate with a Bachelor Degree in Event Management from UCF s Rosen College of Hospitality Management. Thanks to the opportunities the Bailey Family Foundation provided me, I was able to find my passion of event planning and connect it to my love for service. Moss, Marissa: graduated from The University of Tampa on December 17, 2016 and received a Bachelor Degree in Allied Health with a Concentration in Physical Therapy Sciences. She writes, It is my plan to attend graduate school in the Tampa area for physical therapy in 2018. Marissa Moss 2013 & 2015 Bailey Scholar Foundation News & Activities Richard s Run for Life Sinclair, Aimee: writes, This year I organized Suzy s 2nd Annual Party, in honor of my Aunt Suzy, who had Down Syndrome,raising $240.00. It is my plan to make this an annual event and I hope to continue to help the mission of PARC-FL in their endeavors to serve disabled adults and children. Scholarship Recipient Aimee Sinclair raised $250 for PARC-FL. Aimee is pictured Karen Higgins President and CEO of PARC Florida. The 15 th annual 5K run was held on November 4 th in Ybor City and 100% of the proceeds benefitted Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Program for sarcoma research and the Advanced Prostate Cancer Collaboration (APCC). Team BFF: Serr, Matthew: writes, Earlier this year I was hired on as an intern at Lockheed Martin in the finance department of the Javelin Program. It s called the CWEP (College Work Experience Program) and it is a paid position that lasts until I graduate. Thank you and everyone in the Foundation. I am so grateful to have been selected as a recipient. Laura Osborne and Kimberly Czabaj James & Leandra Osborne finished in 1 st place in the male & female categories.

The Bailey Family FOUNDATION Newsletter 3 University of Tampa s Scholarship Luncheon Bailey Scholars in Kenya The annual luncheon honors scholarship recipients and donors. With Foundation and Bailey endowed scholarships combined, 15 scholarships were awarded in 2016 to UT students. It was nice to catch up with our scholarship recipients at UT. Jalloul John & Kawweria Lenantile Both are the first children in their families to go to high school. Ethan Fernandez, 16, and Lucky Night at the Circus This year s 26th Tampa General Hospital Foundation s Night at the Circus, in its last year, raised over 265,000 to benefit TGH s Children s Medical Center. The Bailey Family FOUNDATION Newsletter 4 Bailey Family Center for the Arts In April, The Academy of the Holy Names hosted the Dedication for the Bailey Family Center for the Arts. Here comes Jose Gaspar and his crew! A beautiful new building on campus at The Academy of the Holy Names. Pirate Ron & Kelly Glisson enjoy the festivities. Grandparents Day 2017 Sandy & Roland Cardin, Ron & Bev Bailey with Cameron & Megan The Bailey Family Center for the Arts includes a 350-seat theater as well as art, music, drama and dance rooms. There will be a display space for student art work, an open area for student collaboration and project-based learning and a maker space to further encourage student creativity and ingenuity.
