WOLF PACK 2017 SPRING PROGRAM Please Note the following: NWHL is a House Travel park district program. The rules of the league and park district is first come first serve. There are player number restrictions (minimum and maximum), available ice time and available coaches that determine where a level reaches it s maximum count. Please register early to avoid a wait list that may or may not be able to be accommodated. NWHL is a separate league and business than the travel tournament teams. Registering for one does not secure a spot in the other. Any player concerned with not being selected for a travel team will need to be registered also for NWHL to secure a spot in the event it is needed. A refund will be issued if the player makes the travel team. The travel program will be registering online at www.wolfpackhockeyclub.org soon All players must register for their age category Coyote Mite Registration is under a separate form and league- Midget Information to come-not sure if NWHL will have a league Coaches are being confirmed Players determined not quite ready (will not benefit by team play) will be recommended to continue with Jr Wolf Pack Hockey Skills Goalies get an additional goalie training session each week Great time to master skills-lots of perfect repetition of Sumo and the 5 major skills Note below-birth years determine the level of Spring play-it changes from fall winter All players must be registered for USA Hockey- If you are currently registered your coverage lasts until August 31. This can be a challenging short season as we can compete against other programs that do not have travel, thus quite competitive. It can be a tough learning curve at first,
but the league re tiers for playoffs usually showing how the tough regular season challenge truly improves our players and prepares them for the long fall/winter season. All teams get a total of 3 ice times a week (not including away games) 2 nights allocated to combination skills and various scrimmages small games a team ice time that can be used for team practice or games. Coaches are encouraged to use the parking lot and pine park to work on team system training where team ice is limited in the spring. Evaluations (not tryouts) are required to ensure coaches draft as equal teams as possible. These will take place the week of March 13. Players are encouraged to attend both sessions as it is important teams are as equal in talent level as possible. Season ice times begin April 1st.
