Sneem Community Notice Board Issue 186 3rd August 2017 Monthly Sneem needs a Doctor FREE A Petition has been started on line and a paper one in the locality. It would mean a lot to if you took a moment to add your name because: Doctor s Malone and Forde will retire in October. During the last 33 years the village and the wider region of Sneem have been looked after by an outstanding, caring and deeply committed professionals. But now the time has come to turn the page. We all know that Sneem needs a new doctor. Our local GP is vital to the existence of Sneem and the surrounding areas without a GP we could also lose our Pharmacy. Loss of both would be detrimental to the area. Not only for us living here but also the vast number of visitors who pass through on a daily basis. As we live two and a half hours away from Cork University Hospital, an hour and half from Kerry University Hospital and thirty minutes from Kenmare, where the nearest doctor would be available. We have no rural transport available to get us there, it is of vital importance that we have a Doctor appointed for Sneem. We invite you to sign this petition and to ask your family and friends to help us make known all over Ireland that Sneem is looking forward to welcome and to support a new doctor. http://my.uplift.ie/petitions/sneem-needs-a-doctor-1 Real change happens when everyday people come together and stand up for what they believe in. Together we can reach lots of people and help to create change around this important issue. After you've signed the petition please also take a moment to share it with others.
