The Salon du Running ranks Number One in France From 31st March to 2nd April, running enthusiasts are awaited at the Salon du Running. From simple joggers to experienced marathon runners, 90 000 visitors are expected to check out what is happening in the world of running. Once again this year, the Salon du Running will be the biggest event dedicated to a sporting discipline in France. During two and a half days, equipment makers will be presenting their new products at the heart of one of the planet s essential running exhibitions. Whether event organisers, distributors specialised in dietetics or coaching, running media or tour operators, more than 220 exhibitors that sum up the world of running and all its diversity will be present at the Parc des Expositions exhibition centre at Porte de Versailles. 40 years of the Paris Marathon Two exhibitions will pay homage to all the competitors who have participated in the Paris Marathon since its creation in 1976. The 40 medals: on display in the runners zone. Running shoes from the 1970 s to the present day: four decades of running equipment for a fasttrack journey through time. The Running Catwalk Parades and Testing Zone The Salon du Running will play host to parades by the major equipment makers (on a catwalk just like genuine fashion shows) allowing visitors to discover the trends in running for 2016. An 80-metre long athletics track will give thousands of runners the opportunity to test new running shoes in optimal conditions. Visitors who wish to do so may also take part in training sessions including a warm-up, GPP (general physical preparation) exercises, stretching, interval training and even yoga, supervised by specialist athletes and coaches. Focus on the Health Well-being Zone This is one of the major themes at the 2016 Salon du Running. Four hubs covering the subjects of health and well-being will be set up at the heart of a dedicated zone: Sport-health: Massages will be proposed as well as consultations with chiropodists and osteopaths. Healthy dietetics: A tea bar, dietetic cooking workshops, juice bar and organic produce stand allow runners to recharge their batteries. Women runners: The presence of Run Chic will provide personalised advice for women runners of all levels. Relaxation: In a Japanese themed décor, runners will be able to unwind and relax at the very heart of the exhibition. The exhibition for all runners All types of running have pride of place at the Salon du Running! Naturally, a special zone will be devoted to outdoor and trail running. The leading French competitions will be in attendance to promote their races. Obstacle courses and nature activities will also be present in order to bring the mountains to the heart of Paris for lovers of outdoor pursuits. A gourmet pasta party! Once again this year, a veritable sportspersons restaurant will be set up for two days at the Porte de Versailles. Pasta will obviously reign supreme! Three recipes for the ideal pre-marathon dish will be served. 3
New : Thursday night Runners are brimming with energy and like surprises! To captivate them, this year the Salon du Running is proposing plenty of unprecedented activities. Especially on Thursday during an exceptional Fun & Run evening, enabling runners and visitors to enjoy a friendly atmosphere of celebration until 10 PM. Many gifts will be up for grabs throughout the evening. Hyper Olympic: an interactive race simulation combining mechanics and video games. Retro-gaming: retro consoles with a variety of running games. PROGRAMME The running blind test: a game based on clips of films in which running plays a major role. The playlist bar: a zone reserved for runners who want to create their own personal running playlist. Running photo call: for runners who want to immortalise themselves starting a race by posing on the starting blocks.
