2. Eligibility 2.1 The regatta is open to boats of the J/70 International Class. 2.2 All the boat owners and skippers will have to meet the requirements of the class rules. 2.3 The Italian owners must be in compliance with the registration to the J/70 Italian Class. The registration fee of 400 per year should be paid by bank transfer to the bank account of the J/70 Italian Class. Boats not in rule with the registration to the J/70 Italian Class cannot take part to the events until the payment of the fee. For the year 2016, the J/70 owners, members of the J/70 Italian Class, will receive one waterproof smartphone with a tracker app (raceqs ). The app raceqs installed on the phone will record sailing data creating a 3D replay of the race. 2.4 Association to the J/70 Italian Class is not required for foreign owners wishing to participate to the races of the ALCATEL J/70 CUP. They must be up to date with the registration for the J/70 International Class. 2.5 All competitors must observe the provisions of the World Sailing (former ISAF) Rules regarding eligibility, the ISAF Sailor Classification Code and the International Regulations of the J/70 Class. 2.6 The Italian competitors (each crew member) must have a valid FIV card with the required medical certification, valid for the current year. Foreign competitors must comply with the rules of their national authority. 2.7 Eligible boats may register by completing the online entry available in the J/70 Italian Class official web site www.j70.it together with the required fees. Payments can be made using credit card (PayPal) or bank transfer (bank charges met by the remitter). Registrations must be submitted online with the required fees within the period specified below: 1st Event - Montecarlo by Friday, March 11 2nd Event - Sanremo by Friday, April 8 3rd Event - Porto Cervo by Friday, May 6 4th Event - Malcesine by Friday, June 24 5th Event - Riva del Garda by Friday, August 5 2.8 Entries will be considered effective once confirmed at the Race Office of the hosting Yacht Club before: Montecarlo, Sanremo, Malcesine events: 10.00 Saturday start of the Competition Porto Cervo, Riva del Garda events: 10.00 Friday start of the Competition The following documents will be required: Signature in original of the Entry Form Italian crews: - FIV cards - Valid FIV authorization to display advertising on boat (if present) For all Entrants a valid IJCA Measurement Form Copy of a valid third-party liability insurance (RC insurance) with a minimum cover of 1.500.000 For the Corinthian Division the ISAF Sailor Classification Code Regulation 22 will apply and all crew shall hold a valid Group 1 classification. Entries interested in being eligible for Corinthian Division must have only Group 1 sailors on board and submit their crew list with ISAF ID by the closing date of the web registration. A crew could not apply to the Corinthian Trophy if the classification is not received in time. 2

Regulation 3.1 The regattas will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) (2013-2016) and the FIV prescriptions for Activity Sailing Sport in Italy. 4. Score 4.1 For Monte Carlo, Sanremo and Malcesine events, a maximum of 6 races may be held per event. For Porto Cervo and Riva del Garda events, a maximum of 9 races may be held per event. A total of 36 races are planned over the 5 events. The aim is to run 3 races per day, but if needed 4 races can be run. 4.2 The Low Point System of Appendix "A" of the RRS will be used. 4.3 One (1) race is needed to validate the individual event. 4.4 When five or more races have been sailed, a boat's score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. 4.5 The General Classification of the ALCATEL J/70 CUP 2016 will consist in the following regulation: A boat not present at a single race, classified DNS, DNC, DNF, RAF, will be awarded one (1) additional point than the number of boats that have completed their registration for the event. A boat not competing at a single event, will be assigned to each race held during that event one (1) additional point than the number of boats that have completed their registration for the event. The ALCATEL J/70 CUP general classification will be calculated by adding all the races completed in the individual events (including the races discarded for the single event results). The worst scores will be discarded as follows: - 1st discard: At the completion of the 5th race - 2nd discard: At the completion of the 10th race - 3rd discard: At the completion of the 15th race - 4th discard: At the completion of the 20th race - 5th discard: At the completion of the 25th race - 6th discard: At the completion of the 30th race - 7th discard: At the completion of the 35th race 4.6 The SPRING CUP classification will be calculated considering all the races completed in the Event 1 (Monte Carlo) and Event 2 (Sanremo) without any discard 4.7 The ALPEN CUP classification will be calculated considering all the races completed in the Event 4 (Malcesine) and Event 5 (Riva del Garda) without any discard 3

5. Registration fee 5.1 The registration fee for each event includes: Launching (1) Hauling (1) Mooring Parking for trailer for the period of the event (Monday to Monday) Social Activities post regatta 5.2 The entry fees shall be as follows: Monte Carlo, Sanremo, Malcesine events (two days) 250 Porto Cervo and Riva del Garda events (three days) 350 5.3 Late entries after the dates established in Art. 2.7 may be accepted and will be subject to an extra fee of 100. 6. For the procedure please refer to Annex 2. 4

7. Location of the event 7.1 The events will take place in the waters off the Yacht Clubs as shown in the event Sailing Instruction. 8. Sailing Instructions 8.1 The Sailing Instructions will be available to competitors following registration confirmation by the Race Office of the individual hosting Yacht Club. 9. Course 9.1 The course will be a windward-leeward course with the use of a leeward gate and an offset mark. 10. Awards 10.1 For each event the top three boats in the event ranking and the best scored boat that has an all Corinthian crew will be awarded. 10.2 For the SPRING CUP, the top three boats of the general classification considering Monte Carlo and San Remo events and the first Corinthian boat. 10.3 For the ALPEN CUP, the top three boats of the general classification considering Malcesine and Riva del Garda events and the first Corinthian boat. 10.4 The first boat in Riva del Garda event will be awarded with the EuroCup Challenge Trophy. 10.5 For the ALCATEL J/70 CUP 2016, the top five boats of the general classification will be awarded and the top three Corinthian boats of the general classification. 10.6 The first Italian crew of the ALCATEL J/70 CUP, will be awarded the title of J/70 Italian Class National Champion. 11. Measurement 11.1 All competitors should observe J/70 class measurements rules. Checks may be carried out before the race and during the event. 12. Responsibility 12.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk and under their personal responsibility (RRS Rule 4). 12.2 The Organizing Committee, the Race Committee and the Jury will not take any responsibility for any damage that might be caused to persons or things both in water and ashore before, during and after the race as a result of the races themselves. 13. Restrictions on the ground 13.1 All boats shall be launched by 10.00 am on the day of the start of the event. 13.2 During the event the boats shall not be hauled out except with the prior written permission of the Race Committee and according to its terms. 13.3 The Organizing Authority reserves the right to impose other restrictions. 13.4 The rudders must not be removed for cleaning during the event. 5

14. Advertising Media 14.1 Advertising is permitted as per class rule conforming to regulation 20.4 of WS. The Organizing authority may ask competitors to display sponsor flag and/or stickers. The flag and/or stickers must be displayed from the previous day and up to the end of the event. The application of the above is specified in detail in Annex 1. Boats failing to expose the requested bow numbers, flags and stickers will be penalized at the discretion of the Race Committee. 14.2 The Organizing Authority may ask competitors to install onboard electronic tools for media coverage of the event. 15. VHF 15.1 During the starting procedures the race committee, in conjunction with audible and visual warnings, may communicate by radio, VHF channel 72, sail numbers or bow numbers of boats OCS. The use or non-use of the VHF from the Race Committee, will in no case be subject to protest or request for redress. This changes RRS 29.1 and 62.1 (a). 15.2 Except in an emergency situation a boat shall neither make transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications that cannot be received by all competitors. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones. 16. Coach and Support Boats 16.1 See Class rules. 16.2 Coach and support boats must be registered with the Race Office and collect the mark to be displayed as shown in the SI. All boats registered, if necessary and/or required, must help crafts organization in security operations and provide maximum assistance to all competitors and boats in an emergency situation. Coach and support boat shall keep at least 100 m clear of the racing area at all times during racing. 17. Insurance 17.1 Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum coverage for the event of 1.5 million, or the equivalent amount if expressed in other currency, to be provided by official certification at the registration. 6

ANNEX 1: PLACING STICKERS, BOW NUMBERS, SPONSOR FLAGS Hull stickers It is necessary to respect the maximum margin indicated in the diagram below. The same height should be applied also on the opposite tack. Be careful so that - looking at the hull from the bow - the two adhesives are aligned. Adhesives for the boom The adhesives are applied on both sides of the boom, starting at the mainsheet attachment. Flags The sponsor flags for the backstay must be positioned above the bottom block of the backstay, for the duration of the event (even during racing). The sponsor flags for the forestay must be hoisted throughout the parking period of the boat on the dock above all other flags allowed. 7

ANNEX 2: HAULING REGULATION The list of haulage is drawn following the principle of territorial distance of the boat / skipper / owner. Two boats may agree to share each other's position in the hauling list, but the exchange must be communicated in time to the Race Office. No list change arbitrary or agreed between two competitors will be considered valid if not notified by the Race Office. 8
