Welcome to Dance Project Dance Project was established in 2008, with the inclusion of several corporate dance workshops and private lessons and we officially opened at our current Berwick location offering full classes in February 2009. We are a family owned business, run by Director Sharron Roach Dance Project likes to create a fun, vibrant and energetic atmosphere. We offer a wide range of dance styles. Classes are available for all ages, from 18 months to adults. We cater for all abilities, whether you are just looking to have some fun, or are considering a future in the professional dance industry. We aim to nurture a love of dance whilst maintaining a high standard of technique We pride ourselves on keeping class sizes small and our professional teaching staff are dedicated and passionate about bringing the best out of their students. Pre School Classes At Dance Project we offer a range of classes suitable for pre-primary school aged children. Students have the opportunity to develop confidence, coordination, expression through movement & the love of dance in a fun and exciting environment. BABY JAM - Suitable for 18 months up to 3 year old. Dance, sing and play along with a parent or carer. The class is all about fun while allowing development of their gross motor skills. BEGINNERS - Suitable for 3 year old children - Styles include Ballet and Jazz KINDER DANCE - Suitable for 4 year old children - Styles include Ballet, Jazz and Tap Junior School Once your child has made the transition to primary school, Dance Project offers the opportunity for students to branch out and explore a wider range of dance styles. This allows students to develop their skills and technique in their chosen classes. We acknowledge the important developmental stage from Kinder to prep therefore for students in Prep we offer a variety class SUB JUNIORS - Suitable for students in Prep - Styles include Ballet, Jazz and Tap, along with an introduction to Hip Hop, Contemporary and Acrobatics JUNIORS - Grade 1 & 2 students SUB INTERMEDIATE - Grade 3 & 4 students INTERMEDIATE - Grade 5 & 6 students Classes offered - Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Song & Dance, Acrobatics & Singing
Senior School As students progress into secondary school, we further develop dance skills, technique and performance. Whether they wish to continue dancing for fun or wish to pursue a career in Dance, Performing Arts or Dance teaching, we encourage and support the students dance training. TEEN - Years 7-8 SENIOR - Years 9-12 ADULT - Ages 18+ Classes offered - Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Acrobatics & Singing
ENROLMENT FEE $20 The enrolment fee is a yearly fee, this covers administration, dance insurance, licenses and rehearsal fees. This will be invoiced with your class fees. COSTUMES Both Mid Year Showcase and End Of Year concerts will require parents to purchase or hire a costume for each class. Every year at Dance Project students have the opportunity to perform in two concerts. June - Mid Year Floorshow This concert is held in a large venue, with the performance space set in the middle of tables and chairs, for family and friends to enjoy a fun, relaxed night, being entertained by student performances and a DJ. BYO Food and drink. December - End of Year Concert This concert is held in a theatre, giving students the opportunity to experience performing on stage, with lighting, stage make up, props and costumes. This highlights the students hard work and dedication throughout the year, a showcase of their improved dance skills and techniques. Alongside our major performances, in 2016 we are introducing some new exciting performance opportunities. Public performances Own choreography competition Workshops
Dance Project awards three scholarships annually to one student from each of the following age groups. Junior Intermediate Senior Scholarships are based on several attributes, dedication, attendance, attitude towards class and effort are among some of the attributes we look for in students. The scholarship recipient will be provided with free dance classes for an entire year. A perpetual trophy is also awarded Along with our scholarships, we also award annually, A Rising Star award for students in our pre school age classes Most Improved for one student from each or the Junior, Intermediate and Senior age groups Awards are also presented for students that have been dancing with Dance Project for 5 years
