From the Desk of TJBA President Howdy TJBA Members, As time passes and the days grow longer once again, the time is rapidly approaching for the 2013 Texas Junior Brahman Association Show. I hope you are as excited as I am for this upcoming show. This is the time to start planning and preparing speeches, sales talk, and getting everything set for the show in Lufkin. I encourage everyone to try everything; you never know what you might like. If this is your first TJBA show or like mine your last I hope you enjoy every minute of it. I know I have. This is the time to mingle with others and make friends that will last a lifetime. It has been an honor serving as your 2012-2013 TJBA President. I have had many new experiences and learned a lot about myself that otherwise I never would have, if not for this great organization. Leadership of others, responsibility to the TJBA, being social with my fellow members, trustworthiness of my organization, and perseverance to do my best have been tested but have developed greatly from serving as the TJBA President. These skills have developed my character and will be an asset to my college career at Texas A&M. I am now a humbler person from seeing all the work and effort that goes into hosting a show. I hope to continue to promote the Brahman breed and play a role in its future. I would like to see as many people as possible attend the TJBA show this year. To all the new members have a memorable first year, as I did. I still remember in 2006, my first show, riding a wagon with a lawn chair on top down the big dirt hill at the Nacogdoches fair grounds. To everyone I wish good luck. I hope that everyone tries something new and again encourage you to do all you can. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at (979)-732-0888. I will be more than glad to help in any way possible. Let s make this the best TJBA show ever. Safe travels and God Bless. Hope to see you there! Sincerely, Jacob M. Valenta 2012-2013 TJBA President
