Players on the team Roster do not have to attend every WRC tournament, but their team has too. Each team is entitled to have two imports from another country/ region. Teams may have more than one 4.0 or 4.5 on their roster. All players wishing to play must be available in the first instance for their Region, any players not required for their region may be available to play for other regions (please refer the enclosed release form page 12) Everyone attending WRC rounds must abide by the NZWR code of conduct for this tournament (page 7*). Technical Rules The new ruling for 2016 Female: Females will now play as their official classification. However, the teams total points will be increased by 0.5 for each female athlete on the court at any given time. i.e. A team with one female on court will be permitted a total of 8.5 points, a team with two females will be allowed a total of 9.0 points. This will align NZWR with international rules for female classifications. Social (S): This will be a classification that can be applied for, and will last for the duration of one season of wheelchair rugby (there is no guarantee that if a social grading is awarded one year, that it will be re-awarded the following year). The aim of this grading is to encourage
Page 5 more athletes to continue playing wheelchair rugby, in doing so it should assist newer athletes and smaller regions to field competitive teams. Athletes, coaches and officials associated with NZWR must be aware that they are often the focus of public attention. NZWR expects that all teams and associated personnel are aware of, and will agree to the following code of conduct and as such that a team representative will be asked to sign the code of conduct agreement form as part of the registration process. General Players Abide by both the rules and the spirit of all competitions. Conduct ourselves in a manner that won t discredit ourselves, NZWR and other teams. At all times when travelling to and from and whilst participating in a sporting or social event, dress in team uniform or other attire appropriate to the occasion. Obey and respect any direction given by an appointee of NZWR. Refrain from using offensive or abusive language. Refrain from being intoxicated and using any banned/illegal drugs or substances. Whilst competing obey and respect any direction given by an official. Cooperate with your coach, team mates and opponents. Without them there would be no competition. Never argue with an official. If we/i disagree, we/i will have my captain, coach or manager approach the official at the appropriate time. Never engage in physical or verbal abuse of officials or other players. Deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent is not acceptable or permitted. Coaches/Managers/Officials Be reasonable in our demands. Teach players to follow the rules and set a good example. Be consistent, objective and courteous when making decisions. Condemn unsporting behaviour. Report incidents in writing to the NZWR within seven (7) days. Competition Schedule Dependant on the amount of competing teams, NZWR will endeavour to run the Championship as a full round robin with semi-finals and finals. Penalties Any team that forfeits or fails to attend a game for any reason, except in exceptional circumstances, during any round will automatically lose all points gained from that and any previous rounds. Any team or players that fail to attend an entire round for any reason may be denied entry to the 2015 NZWR National Championships. All penalties will be enforced at the discretion of the NZWR Committee.
Page 6 Accommodation & Transport It is the responsibility of all teams to organise and pay for their own accommodation and food for the duration of each round. Accommodation and food options will be provided by each host region at least 2 months in advance of the particular round. Transport to and from the airport will be available from the accommodation options provided by the host region, but only if at least two weeks notice is given of the teams return flight details. Teams must attempt to arrive together and in reasonable hours of the day, or it will be at the host regions discretion whether or not to provide the above transport. Transport to and from the competition venue will be available from the accommodation options provided by the host region. Communication The preferred contact method during the WRC will be e-mail. It is the responsibility of the team managers to check all e-mails on a regular basis to ensure that communication is efficient and in a timely matter.
