Homecoming Royalty Rules Packet Rachel Blumer Homecoming Director Blue Devil Productions 715.232.2432 Attendance required at the mandatory meeting in the MSC. The mandatory meeting is September 23rd from 8 pm to 9 pm in the Badger Room of the MSC. Royalty needs to attend this meeting. **Turn in this Rules Packets to the Service Desk in the Memorial Student Center along with the Registration forms** Deadline to turn in packets: Tuesday, September 30th

In representation of my Red, White and Blue Devil self: In representation of myself, a royalty candidate during this year s official Homecoming 2014 activities and in the year to follow, I sign this form after reading and understanding the following requirements: 1. I understand that my behavior is a reflection of myself, my sponsoring organization, the UW-Stout community and campus as a whole. 2. I agree to express positive behaviors throughout the course of official Homecoming activities. 3. I agree to meet outside of the Great Hall at 7:30 pm on Friday, October 10 th to take a photo and do a quick rehearsal of coronation. 4. I agree to participate in the announcement of the Homecoming Court and coronation after the comedian Friday, October 10 th, 2014 (approx. 9 pm) and at half time of the football game (approx. 3:30 pm). **Please feel free to display your Red, White and Blue Devil pride throughout Homecoming week, but points for costumes will ONLY be awarded for the panel interview** PLEASE REMEMBER COSTUMES/OUTFITS SHOULD BE TASTEFUL AND THAT INCLUDES RESPECT OF OUR AMERICAN FLAG. Collage Activity Create a collage of yourself tied in with this year s Red, White and Blue Devils Homecoming theme and your organization s chosen theme. Collage making will take place from 12pm to 8pm on Monday, October 6 th in the Involvement Center in the MSC. 1. Create a collage of yourself tied in with the Homecoming theme. a. Distasteful collages will result in a complete disqualification from all Homecoming activities 2. You have 3 hours to work on the collage a. You do not have to stay for the full amount of time b. You must stop working once the 3 hour time limit is up c. All collages must be completed by 10pm 3. You will be given the board material for your collage that is 20 x30 4. You will be supplied with a. Glue b. Modge-podge c. Paint brushes d. Scissors e. Bright paper 5. You are not allowed to use others for help to create your collage 6. Your collage should include: a. Your organization s name b. The Homecoming theme c. Hint *Points for incorporating Stout and Homecoming into your collage 7. Collage times will be tracked so that all participants have equal time/access to supplies 8. You may bring your own materials and other memorabilia from your organization to help personalize your collage (hint: utilize your own photos) 9. For rule clarification feel free to email Signed:

Royalty Interviews Interviews will be live and will be judged on creativity and content. Extra points will be given for including Stout and Homecoming in the interview. 1. Interviews will take place on Tuesday, October 7 th in the White Pine room in the Memorial Student Center between 4 pm and 10 pm. a. Make sure that you have time available sometime between 4 pm and 10 pm, as alternative times are not available. b. We will do our best to accommodate your first request for interview times, but can not guarantee your first selection 2. Each candidate will schedule a time to answer questions about themselves in front of a live panel of judges 3. Each candidate will be interviewed for approximately 10 minutes 4. Props, costumes, and background information about yourself are encouraged 5. You will receive more details about sign-up times and interview questions once you have submitted your Royalty Registration 6. Film Clip & Campaigning The UW- Stout student body will vote for their favorite film clip/music video/candidate. Royalty will be given a tagline and a prop to use in their video. This film clip/music video should show the student body why you are the best candidate for King or Queen. 1. The film clip may be no longer than 2 minutes 2. The film clip must include the given tagline a. Please use this tagline in your film clip: UW-Stout, I want YOU to choose me as your Homecoming King/Queen. b. Must include at least one of the following props: American Flag, Bald Eagle, Uncle Sam, a sparkler, or Blaze (please note to be respectful) 3. The film or music video will be posted to YouTube and then a link of the video will be emailed to Blue Devil Productions () 4. The film or music video YouTube link (must be set as a public video) is due on Wednesday, October 8 th by NOON (12 p.m.) and emailed to 5. Voting will take place from 8am on Thursday, October 9 th to 12pm (noon) on Friday, October 10 th a. Royalty will be able to campaign via Facebook for student votes as soon as your Royalty packet is turned in b. Royalty can campaign the week of Homecoming (October 6 th 10 th ) by chalking (chalk only on sidewalks/paths that are exposed to rain) i. Royalty are not allowed to go in dining areas (the Commons) or solicit in the residence halls c. Those who violate campus policy and campaign rules will be disqualified from the Royalty competition 6.
