The Canyon Roc Marathon boasts an international quality label awarded by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), and is thus featured on the UCI Marathon Series calendar. The race will serve as a qualifier for the Marathon World Championships and allow riders to win UCI points. Participants are invited to consult the international regulations governing qualification quotas and the UCI pointscoring scale online (www.uci.ch). Reconnaissances are not allowed for any Roc d Azur races. For this reason, only a general profile of each race will be released. The exact itinerary of each race will be available for consultation in the bib collection area (at the Base Nature François Léotard in ). 3. CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION Races are open to everyone, male and female, licence holders and non-licence holders, subject to the following conditions. Participants with a competitive cycling licence issued by a French federation (FFC, UFOLEP, FSGT, FFTRI) are required to present their 2016 licence or provide a photocopy of it when they collect their bibs. Participants with licences issued by UCI-affiliated federations are required to provide a medical certificate. All other competitors (with licences issued by national federations not mentioned above) will need to provide an original or a photocopy of a medical certificate (dated no earlier than a year before the day of the race) stating that they are fit to take part in competitive cycling events. Participants must respect assignments from the organization and the security and must respect the highway code. Parental permission is required for minors. Medical certificate and parental permission templates can be downloaded from the event website (www.rocazur.com). The medical certificate or 2016 licence must be provided when participants collect their bibs at the Base Nature François Léotard in, and at no other time. Medical certificates sent in advance, by post or e-mail, will not be accepted. SPECIFIC RULES CONCERNING THE TRI ROC Tri Roc participants must present a 2016 FFTri licence. If you are unable to provide an original or a photocopy of this document, a medical certificate (dated no earlier than a year before the day of the race) stating that you are fit to take part in a competitive triathlon will be required. Competitors without licences will also be required to register for an FFTri day pass. Bins will be provided at all refreshment points. Participants must make use of these when disposing of waste. Waste collection points will also be set up at strategic points along each course. Participants can dispose of waste in these areas, which will be marked by netting placed on the ground. The locations of these areas will be published on the event website (www.rocazur.com). Participants must hold onto their litter and wrappers and wait until they reach the places set up by the organiser to dispose of them. Any contestant seen breaking these rules will be disqualified from the race in question by an official controller or an organiser. 12. RANKINGS / PRIZES Rankings will be established for every race except the Randos. These rankings will take into account the categories specific to each race, which have been determined in advance. Not every category awards prizes to its winners. Prize winners must be present at the prize giving ceremony, or else they will not receive their prizes. Some races have their own prize grid. 13. PENALTIES If competitors commit the following offences they will be punished, either by being excluded from the race or a by being given a time penalty: - Failure to pass a checkpoint; - Parking a bike on the course or riding in the wrong direction; - Straying from the course; - Test runs during the race itself and outside the official reconnaissances; - Not wearing a helmet at any point during the race; - Refusing to let a faster competitor overtake; - Dropping litter; - Debasement of the sponsors logos printed on the number plates. In the event of an offence not listed above, the race directors, with the backing of FFC and UCI officials, reserve the right to apply a penalty. 14. WITHDRAWALS If a competitor wishes to withdraw for any reason other than injury, he should, if at all possible, do so at one of the elimination and return points set up by the organiser. The participant should find the person in charge of the area, who will permanently invalidate his race number. Return transportation for athletes and bikes will be available at each of these points. 15. TIME LIMITS To guarantee participants safety, it is vital that they do not go over the time limit set for the end of each race. Obligatory secondary itineraries will be set up accordingly. FIXED CUT-OFF POINTS FOR ALTERNATIVE ROUTES Cut-off times and alternative routes will be arranged at various points along the course (refreshment areas). After the cut-off time listed for each point, it will no longer be possible for riders to leave the location by the main race route. If a participant fails to set off from one of these points before the assigned time, he will be directed to an alternative route and will not be included in the race rankings. The organiser will arrange an end-of-race operation to follow the last competitor. In the Tri Roc, all competitors will need to have reached the transition area between mountain biking and running (T2) by 4 hours after the race start at the latest. After this point, competitors will not be allowed to take part in the running stage. The chief referee has the power to modify this elimination cut-off time. 16. MEDICAL AID Medical assistance will be provided by doctors and mobile emergency aid units. If they are needed, these units can be called by the signallers posted along each course, who are equipped with radio transmitters. If advised to do so by a doctor, the organiser reserves the right to withdraw any person deemed unfit to continue from the race and have them escorted from the site. Any competitor who requests attention from a doctor or firstaid worker agrees to fully accept their authority and judgement. If need be, in the interests of the person in question, the emergency services will be called. From that point on, the emergency services will take charge of the situation and use any means they deem appropriate, including transport by helicopter. Calls to the emergency services can be made by dialling 18. - 11 -

Participants who receive medical treatment during or after a race must inform the organiser using a standard form within five days. After this deadline, notifications will not be accepted and the organiser will not be held liable. 17. MODIFICATIONS The organiser reserves the right to modify the course and/or the location of the refreshment points and/or the time limits for any Roc d Azur race, at any time. In order to guarantee participants safety in the event of poor weather conditions, the organiser reserves the right to postpone start times, stop races in progress, cancel races or implement fall-back itineraries. 18. ANTI-DOPING TESTS The Roc d Azur is an event organised under the aegis of the F.F.C. As a result, anti-doping tests may be organised. Roc d Azur participants are required to comply fully with the ban on doping and with all aspects of any anti-doping measures that may be taken as a result of the laws and regulations in force, notably under Articles L230-1 and following of the French Sports Code. Participants must make sure that they have not been selected for drug testing before they leave the race site. If tested, the participants involved must be able to provide proof of identity. 19. RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT In light of the beauty of the region and the site which host the Roc d Azur each year (including private property and protected areas, etc.), participants must respect the environment (no littering, dropping cigarette ends on the ground, etc.) and refrain from lighting fires in the region, which is prone to wild fires. Anyone who fails to comply may be prosecuted. 20. INSURANCE Civil liability In accordance with current legislation, the organiser has taken out insurance covering the financial consequences of its civil liability, that of its officials and that of all the participants in the Roc d Azur. As for the civil liability of the participants themselves, the afore-mentioned insurance policy will only cover accidents caused by participants during the sporting event. This guarantee can apply in addition to or in lieu of other insurance policies that participants might take out. A copy of the insurance policy is available to all participants upon request. Personal accident All Roc d Azur participants, whether or not they have licences issued by a sports federation, may take out insurance by post when they register for the event or, at the latest, when they collect their bibs. This policy will pay out a sum in the event of physical injury (death or permanent disability) as a result of an accident which has occurred on the race route. The compensation, based on the injuries and the compensation options selected, will take effect if the insured party suffers an accident while participating in the sports event. This insurance is optional, but strongly recommended. It can be taken out as a stand-alone policy or in addition to another insurance of the same type, such as those included with sports licences. More information and the subscription form can be found on the event website. Material damage The organiser will not be held responsible for damage (theft, breakage, loss, etc.) to participants personal belongings, not even those left in its care. Participants may not, therefore, take action against the organiser for any damage caused to their equipment. Taking out insurance against such risks is the responsibility of the participant. - 12 -
