Nice to Know Information Concerning the 2013 ICFRA F-Class World Championships A Bit of Awards History The Milcun Shield The Milcun Shield is a very large carved wooden Shield that was presented to the first Individual F-Class World Champion, Herr Wolfgang Scholze of Germany at the inaugural FCWC in Ottawa, Canada in 2002. It was donated by the owners of Milcun Marksmanship, Keith Cunningham and Linda Miller. On August 25th at the Award Ceremony in Raton the 2013 F-Class Open World Champion will take possession of the Milcun Shield from the current Champion, Gary Costello, GB until the next Championships in 2017. Gary received it from Middleton Tompkins, USA in 2009 who took it from Wolfgang Scholze, at the 2005 FCWC in South Africa. That Shield sure has gotten around a bit.
The Farquharson Trophy & The Rutland Cup The Farquharson Trophy on the right is awarded to the winning International F-Open Team in the Team Championships. It also was first awarded in 2002, to the USA Team. In 2005 it passed to the South African Team and in 2009 to the GB Team. The Rutland Cup on the left above goes to the winning F-Open 4 shooter team. It also was first awarded in 2002 to the USA Team. In 2005 it was won again by the USA and in 2009...you got it, the USA. These exquisite cups were donated by Jim McAlister, Chief Executive of the Rutland Group, an outstanding rifleman in his own right.
The Richardson Trophy The Richardson Trophy will be awarded for the first time to the winning International F/TR Team in the Team Championships. This is a challenge trophy consisting of a Statuette of HM Queen Victoria won as an outright trophy by the late Sir Philip Wigham Richardson in the NRA of GB Prize Meeting of 1896. Sir Philip was for a number of years the Chairman of the NRA and was a most distinguished marksman of his era. This included a silver medal at the 1908 Olympics for Military Rifle. He was subsequently a Member of the British Parliament at Westminster. The trophy has been seconded to ICFRA by Courtesy of the NRA of Great Britain, with the full assent of Sir Philip's granddaughters, Caroline, Jennifer and Patricia.
