Our Causes and Use of Proceeds Proceeds from the Rogers Cycling Festival support cycling causes in our region. The NWA Emerging Leaders support the Rogers Community Bike Program. Through this program, the Emerging Leaders purchased 45 new bikes that were placed at trailheads in Rogers for free public use. These are sturdy cruiser type bikes that stay outside at trailheads year round. Proceeds from this year s festival will allow new bikes to be purchased and donated for free public use. Another beneficiary of the Rogers Cycling Festival is Pedal It Forward NWA. (www.pedalitforwardnwa.com) Pedal It Forward NWA is a non-profit organization that takes donated new and used bikes, tunes them up and provides them to people in need. Over the past year, Pedal It Forward has fixed up and donated over 600 bikes to organizations such as Souls Harbor NWA, Seven Hills Homeless Shelter, Department of Veterans Affairs in Fayetteville, Fort Smith and Springfield, Ozark Guidance Center in Springdale, Oakdale Middle School s Earn a Bike program, Mathias Elementary School in Rogers, and many individuals in need of affordable transportation. We will also provide contributions to the Ozark Off Road Cyclists and the Boston Mountain Cyclists clubs in recognition of their volunteers who will help organize and run portions of the festival. NWA Emerging Leaders (http://www.nwaemergingleaders.com/) is a program of the Rogers- Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce. The Emerging Leaders Greenways & Trails workgroup links parks, trails and people; to provide, protect, develop and maintain parks, greenways and trails throughout the community; and to promote public awareness of the benefits of green space. All festival funds are kept and managed by the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce and are included in the chamber s annual audit. All proceeds will go to great cycling causes!
