The Birds now lead the season series 5-4 with eight games remaining. Scott Lyman was given his team-leading eighth loss of the season in the game although he didn't pitch badly. Lyman allowed just five hits in 6.1 innings of work but unfortunately two of those hits were long balls. After Jupiter had taken a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning thanks to a RBI double by Jesus Solorzano, Lyman allowed a solo shot to Bruce Caldwell to tie the game at one. In the bottom of the fifth inning the Cards would take the lead when Mason Katz took Lyman deep to left for a two-run homer. The Hammerheads would get in on the fun in the sixth inning when Solorzano hit a home run to right-center, his first of the year, to cut the deficit to a run. Jupiter would tie things up later in the sixth when Cody Keefer reached on an infield single and Josh Adams hit a triple off the wall in left field. In the seventh the Birds broke through off Lyman. Luke Voit led off with a single before Nick Martini slapped a double down the third base line. After Anthony Garcia walked to load the bases, Katz drove in his third run of the game with a sac fly to right. Cesar Valera would then hit a blooper that fell in right-center to score Martini. That would be it for Lyman as Blake Logan came out of the bullpen and shut the Cardinals down with 1.2 no-hit innings, but the offense could not mount a comeback. JESUS SAVES: Jesus Solorazno had one of his best games of the season on Tuesday. Solorzano went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs batted in, finishing just a triple shy of the cycle. He also stole his team-leading 10 th base of the season in the loss. The home run was Solo s first since August 27 th, 2013. It was his second three-hit game of the season. Unfortunately, Solorzano came out of the game in the eighth inning when he injured his hamstring on a ground out to second. On Wednesday he was placed on the 7-day disabled list due to the injury. FINS VS. FEATHERS: Matt Juengel had another hit against Palm Beach when he pulled a double to left-center in the eighth inning on Tuesday. Juengel is hitting.441against the Cardinals this season and has gotten a hit in eight of the nine games against the Birds this season Cody Keefer had his fourth multi-hit game of the season on Tuesday. Two of those games have come against Palm Beach. THE MONTH THAT WAS: Jupiter finished the month of June with a 6-19 record Colin Moran was the team s hottest hitter in June as he batted.337 with three home runs and 10 RBI in the month Viosergy Rosa also had an impressive June batting.312 with three home runs and a team-leading 16 RBI Noah Perio hit.315 Jesus Solorzano led the team with six steals Despite posting a 0-2 record in June, Scott Lyman allowed just two earned runs in three starts Austin Brice pitched a team-leading 29 innings and had a 2.48 ERA in June. #HAMMERTIME: Be sure to follow the Hammerheads on Twitter (@gohammerheads) and like us on Facebook to get information about the team during the Florida State League season.
