DENVILLE PAL GIRLS TRAVEL SOFTBALL Denville Blue Devils Player Registration for 2016-2017 Season No participation will be granted without a completed Registration, Release & Waiver, Code of Conduct, Player Contract, and Paid Fees. Fees vary for some age groups. Cost structure is outlined within Player Contract (see attached). Players will compete during 2016 Fall Season and 2017 Spring/Summer Season Team fees will be billed after players accept their invite to team. Payments are NON-REFUNDABLE. Denville Police Athletic League Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement (Read Carefully Before Signing) In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way in the league or organization indicated below and/or being permitted to enter for any purpose any restricted area (herein defined as any area wherein admittance to the general public is prohibited), the parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) of the minor participant named below agree: 1. The parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) will instruct the minor participant that prior to participating in the below activity or event, he or she should inspect the facilities and equipment to be used, and if he or she believes anything is unsafe, the participant should immediately advise the officials of such condition and refuse to participate. I understand and agree that, if at any time, I feel anything to be UNSAFE, I will immediately take all precaution to avoid the unsafe area and REFUSE TO PARTICIPATE further. 2. I/We fully understand and acknowledge that: a. There are risks and dangers associated with participation of athletic activities which could result in bodily injury, partial and/or total disability, paralysis and death. b. The social and economic losses and/or damages, which could result from those risks and dangers described above, could be severe. c. These risks and dangers may be caused by the action, inaction or negligence of the participant or the action, inaction or negligence of others, including, but not limited to, the Releasees named below. d. There may be other risks not known to us or are not reasonably foreseeable at this time. 3. I/We accept and assume such risks and responsibility for the losses and/or damages following such injury, disability, paralysis or death, however caused and whether caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Releasees named below. 4. I/We HEREBY acknowledge that THE ACTIVITIES OF THE EVENT(S) ARE VERY DANGEROUS and involve the risk of serious injury and/or death and/or property damage. Each of THE UNDERSIGNED also expressly acknowledges that INJURIES RECEIVED MAY BE COMPOUNDED OR INCREASED BY NEGLIGENT RESCUE OPERATIONS OR PROCEDURES OF THE RELEASEES. 5. EACH OF THE UNDERSIGNED further expressly agrees that the forgoing release, waiver and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the law of the Province or State in which the organization is conducting events and that if any portion is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect. 6. On behalf of the participant and individually, the undersigned parents(s) and/or legal guardian(s) for the minor participant executes this Waiver and Release. If, despite the release, the participant makes a claim against any of the Releasees, the parent(s) and or/or legal guardian(s) will reimburse the Releasee for any money which they have paid to the participant, or on his behalf, and hold them harmless. DENVILLE PAL GIRLS SOFTBALL Player Code of Conduct Agreement Mission: The objective of Denville PAL Girls Softball shall be to promote the ideas of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect in its players. As a player of Denville Softball I agree to the following code of conduct: 1. I will respect my teammates, coaches, parents, spectator s umpires and myself and will treat all with good sportsmanship and respect. 2. I will remember that I am part of a team and I cannot play a game on my own. 3. I will conduct myself in an appropriate manner and try not to bring any disgrace or danger to my teammates, coaches, parents, spectator s umpires and myself. I not only represent my team and my league but my district and myself. 4. I will demonstrate the highest level of sportsmanship, and understand that winning is desirable but is not the sole reason that I play the game. I will demonstrate good sportsmanship in losing as well as winning. 5. I will respect the grounds and facilities that games are played at, to treat all things with respect and report any misuse or abuse. 6. I will respect any opponent and teammate and will treat them with respect. 7. I will not use profanity in any situation. 8. I will not steal or mistreat other people s equipment or belongings. 9. I am expected to participate in activities such as fundraisers to support my league. 10. I am expected to come prepared with my equipment to practices and games. 11. Uniforms must be worn to each game along with designated uniform socks and face guards. 12. I am expected to help keep the playing areas clean, including picking up the area and dugout after each game. 13. I will listen to my coaches with respect and obey what they are instructing me to do. I will not post anything on any social media site about any team or player in a bullying manner. 14. I understand and agree to the rules above; I understand that failure to comply with the rules means that I will have disciplinary action taken against me up to and/or including suspension or expulsion from the league. DENVILLE PAL GIRLS SOFTBALL Parent Code of Conduct Agreement It is the objective of the Denville PAL Girls Softball is to provide your child with a wholesome atmosphere in which to engage in a healthy athletic competition. Our primary goal is to build character in our children. Because of the excitement and high emotion of some of our games, we thought it important to express some policies regarding what we expect from you, your children and your guests. Please know that we encourage cheering, excitement and exuberance, but please be careful and always express this in a positive manner. Saying negative things about players, coaches or umpires cannot be tolerated. 1. We will not tolerate any behavior on the playing field or in the stands, which would hinder the spirit of sportsmanship and cooperation that we are trying to encourage. 2. DO NOT COACH YOUR CHILD FROM THE STANDS. The coach and player on the field may have specific signs, or prearranged scenarios to ask a player to do something. PLEASE do not interfere with any Coach s instruction. 3. Abusive and foul language is not permitted. 4. Alcohol use or drug use is not permitted. 5. No smoking or the use of tobacco products in the stands, on the playing field or in the dugout is strictly prohibited. 6. Conduct of any guests is the responsibility of the parent/guardian whose child participates in the program. 7. I will monitor my child s comments on social media to avoid bullying. Any bullying of any kind is subject to that player being suspended from Denville PAL Girls Softball. 8. This is a volunteer program. We expect that you will do your part to have you child attend all practices, games and fundraisers at designated time. 9. I will remember that my child plays for her enjoyment, not for mine. 10. I will always address any questions or concerns to the coaching staff at the appropriate time i.e. I will wait at least 24 hours to contact the coach and ensure that it is away from the players. Parents, if you feel that your concerns were not meet by your daughters coach are not satisfactory you may contact the Denville PAL Softball Board. Please submit your concerns to our Vice President at: VicePresident@DenvilleSoftball.org Failure to comply with these rules may result in expulsion from the club. The softball board has the final decision on all policy infractions. Denville s travel softball began in 2005 and our Blue Devil teams currently compete during the fall, spring, & summer seasons. The level of commitment and level of play of our travel program are for players that are looking to compete at a higher level than our recreation program which plays during the spring season only. Travel Seasons (All players are required to wear face guards when practicing or playing games) Fall Season Runs from September until end of October. Teams typically play in the Jefferson League and have practice two times a week and play double headers on Saturday. Winter Training Players attend indoor training once a week starting 2 nd Saturday in January and continues until 1 st week in April. Pitchers and catchers typically start training during winter and meet once or twice a week. Speed & Agility sessions are also encouraged. Spring Season Runs April 1 st though mid June. Teams will have option to play as a tournament team or as a league team with some tournaments. Practices are usually twice a week depending on game schedule. Travel Fees Summer Season Runs from mid June through July. Denville is the host of the Denville Summer League and we typically have more than 50 travel teams competing within all divisions. Practices are usually twice a week. Fall Season Player fee is $125 for all age levels. Players will receive a fall game jersey. Players are responsible for providing softball pants, belt, socks, faceguard and helmet. None of which has to be Blue Devils travel equipment. Winter Training Training fees are $125 per player. o Pitcher & catchers will meet once a week.
