IIHF UNIFORM PROGRAM GUIDELINES 2014/15 2015/16 1

IIHF Ice Hockey Uniform Program 2014/15 2015/16 Introduction The IIHF uniform programme procedure will continue to build on the success of the process introduced in the seasons 2000/2001 and 2001/2, reconfirmed with minor modification for 2002/3 and 2003/4 and again successfully implemented for the seasons 2004/5 2012/14. Nike will continue to supply the teams participating in the WM, WM20, WW and in addition have the right to supply any other IIHF top calibre championship (including WM18, WW18) with their uniform selected at their own discretion. The IIHF will remain responsible to supply every two seasons the participating teams of all the IIHF Championships including qualification rounds with the exception of the Championships supplied by Nike (see above) with the approved package. Olympic Qualification Rounds are not part of the IIHF Uniform Program. Nike deals directly with the National Associations concerned for the supply of their teams participating in the top-level IIHF Championships, which they have decided to supply. The IIHF deals with the National Associations concerned for the supply of their teams participating in the Championships other than those supplied by Nike. The IIHF has renewed the agreement with Licensing Corporation of Finland OY (LCF) to supply the teams to be included in the IIHF Uniform Program for the seasons 2014/15 and 2015/16. LCF has successfully managed the supply of uniforms to all the IIHF Ice Hockey Championship Pools in the past. During the last eight seasons of joint operation, they have proved to have the necessary know-how and experience to cope with the requirements of our programme. Mr. Mauri Nylund and Mr. Petri Nylund from LCF were available to meet all the representatives of member national associations attending the 2014 Annual Congress in Minsk to finalise the uniform design and requirements. Uniform Design Each Member National Association who has entered a team in an IIHF Championship will be allowed to register a uniform design for the IIHF Uniform Program that will be used for all their teams participating in the IIHF uniform programme for the seasons 2014/15 and 2015/16. This design will consider the national colours of the country and the traditional format they have adopted in previous IIHF Championships. The attached IIHF Uniform Program Jersey Layout together with the latest version of the Sport Regulations, the IIHF Rulebook, particularly point 240, and the IIHF Supplier Brochure applies. The representatives of the Member National Associations are invited to contact LCF either to provide them with suggestions for a new design or to confirm the existing design. Mauri and Petri Nylund were available for the entire duration of the Annual Congress in Minsk to assist the representatives from the Member National Associations and produce the necessary artwork. The 2

Member National Associations were requested to approve in writing their design and they will also receive a copy of the approved design for their file. The Member National Association must complete the approval of the uniform design, if it was not possible to do so in Minsk by the latest 20 th June 2014. Should a Member National Association fail to confirm their uniform design by the above deadline the IIHF will be empowered to consider as approved the last proposal by the producer or, if not available, the design of the previous season. Once the uniform design is approved by the Member National Association it shall be valid for all their teams participating in the IIHF Uniform Program during the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons and no change of the design will be allowed during that period. NIKE introduces a new design approval process every four (4) years (before the Olympic Games) for all teams participating in WM, WM20 and WW top division. This does not interfere with the IIHF Uniform Program design approval process which runs separately every two (2) years. Standard Package Contents Each team participating in an IIHF Ice Hockey Championship not supplied by Nike will receive once in the two seasons 2014/15 and 2015/16 an approved package consisting of: First year: one set of home jerseys with numbers and name bars co-ordinated with socks one set of away jerseys with numbers and name bars co-ordinated with socks one set of shells (cover pants) set with two C and four A letters Second year: one set of name bars for home and away jerseys set with two C and four A letters Table of Supply A table of supply has been prepared as a separate document which will operate as a quick reference for the recipient to ascertain the kind of package their teams will receive. The table of supply is created based on the result of the IIHF Calendar of Events following the 2014 Annual Congress in Minsk. Any further adjustments will be included later in an updated version of the Table of Supply. Variants in the Uniform Packages There are several variants corresponding to the calibre and gender of the team in the package as follows: 3

Name Bars Correct Printing of Player s Name on Jersey To ensure that every team provides the correct player s names to print on their jersey s the following rules apply and have to be complied: Example Name: Dwain Jordan Smith 1. Always use the last name (family name) on the name bar: SMITH 2. In case of two same family names differentiate one player by adding his first name. SMITH D. SMITH 3. In case of the three, four, five etc. identical family names differentiate as shown under #2. SMITH D. SMITH J. SMITH 4. In case of the three identical family names and two identical first names use middle names. SMITH D. SMITH D.J. SMITH 5. If there are 3 players with the same first name it would still be the same as # 4 Letters to be used for name bars No special letters can be printed onto the name bars. See examples: Ä=AE, Ö=OE, Ü=U, É=E, À=A etc. Order Confirmation The IIHF will distribute to all the Member National Associations concerned a circular letter summarising the topics of the uniform programme procedure and requesting to confirm by beginning of August 2014, or beginning of July if a championship starts in September/October, the acceptance of the standard sizing. The Member National Associations can request corrections of the standard sizing according to the needs of their teams. Should the Member National Association fail to send in their confirmation by the above deadline, the standard sizing has automatically been accepted. 6

General/Semi Annual Congress It might be possible that the final decision about the staging of and participation in an IIHF Championship will be postponed to the 2014 Semi Annual Congress in Tenerife in September. In this case an ad hoc procedure will be established for the teams newly entered in the IIHF Championship program. The dates of all the IIHF Championship will be confirmed at the Semi Annual Congress in Tenerife as the dates are essential information for programming the production and delivery of the uniform packages to the National Associations. Player Nomination After the 2014 Semi Annual Congress the IIHF will circulate to all the Member National Associations for each of their teams included in the IIHF Uniform Program the name bar forms. Each Member National Association will have the opportunity to name in addition to the 25 or 30 as per their package, five or ten more player names depending on the package type. The IIHF will include in all shipments 5 + 5 blank name bars (or 10 + 10) for each team to be used for lastminute operations. Through the name bar order forms, the Member National Associations have the opportunity to decide for each of their teams whether the printed name bars are to be stitched onto the designated jerseys or whether they will take care of the stitching themselves. As an alternative, they may also require that blank name bars be delivered separately and they will take care of the printing and stitching of those. The deadline for returning the name bar order forms will be decided after the 2014 Semi Annual Congress considering the production count-down and delivery schedules. Should a Member National Association fail to return the name bar form by the established deadline, the IIHF will understand that they have opted for printing and stitching the name bars by themselves. Countdown Schedule The following countdown schedule has been envisaged for fulfilling the obligation and optimising the management of the procedure. An earlier schedule may apply for those Federations/Teams attending Qualification Rounds. Feb/March March/April May 20th June: June-August: End September Sep14- May 15 Adjust and resign contract with Licensing Corporation of Finland (LCF); Mauri&Petri Nylund with IIHF Design registration IIHF informs MNA s about new two year cycle and design registration performed by LCF. IIHF to send information letter about design registration to MNA s. NIKE designs delivered to LCF by IIHF 2014 Annual Congress in Minsk in May approval of the IIHF design proposal. Modification of the design layout if necessary deadline for approving the design proposals by all MNA's (if any modifications were requested at the Annual Congress). Distribution of Uniform Program Guidelines and request for confirming the standard sizing of uniforms. Further adjustments to the procedure if necessary on occasion of the IIHF Semi Annual Congress in Tenerife Same procedures as 2013_2014 (name bar form, collection & sending to LCF, production and sending to Member National Association by LCF) 7

Delivery and Customs Clearance As a principle there will be one shipment per country; the packages of all the teams of the same Member National Association supplied under the IIHF Uniform Program will be included in the same delivery. Exceptions will have to be approved by the IIHF and co-ordinated with the Member National Association concerned. The shipment to a Member National Association (including the packages of all their teams supplied) will be delivered three/four weeks before the date of the first IIHF championship they are going to attend. The Member National Association will be requested to notify through the name bar form the IIHF about the address and contact person by whom they intend to receive the package. Should there be any failure to provide the above information within the above deadline, the IIHF will be empowered to use the Federation s headquarter as delivery address and appoint the General Secretary as contact person. The IIHF will inform well in advance each Member National Association about the date of the delivery and also provide the recipients with the packing list of the shipment (useful for the separation of their team packages) and with a receipt form, which will have to be returned for confirmation after the completion of the operation. Should there be any discrepancy between the packing list and what the Member National Association has actually received, they will have the opportunity to immediately notify the IIHF through the receipt form. The IIHF will enclose in the shipping documents a donation letter (if necessary) to confirm that there is no commercial value in the delivered items as they are produced solely for the use of the Member National Association concerned at the IIHF Championships and cannot be resold. A second original of the said letter will be sent to the Member National Association well in advance to enable them to make the necessary preparations for the customs clearance. However, each member national association will have to take care of the customs clearance process and pay, if there is no other option, the customs duty. The Member National Associations retain the right to submit the necessary documentation to the IIHF for claiming reimbursement, which will be granted according to the availability of funds. Usage of the Uniforms The IIHF provides uniforms to each team competing in the IIHF Championship Program. As mentioned earlier, the packages received by each team vary depending on the level and the category in which the team is participating. The use by teams of the uniforms provided according to these guidelines for the seasons of 2014/15 and 2015/16 is mandatory in all IIHF World Championships. Therefore, any uniforms which the IIHF has provided earlier or any uniforms which the National Associations use for other tournaments shall not be used in IIHF World Championships. 8
