WELCOME The Town Council of El Ejido, through its Tourism Department, welcomes you to the municipal district. We hope you will enjoy the beaches and services at your disposal. BEHAVIOUR EXPECTED BATHERS In order to promote civic behaviour and respect for the environment, bathers are expected to follow the next rules and suggestions. For the good of all, we thank you in advance for your collaboration. Do not waste water. Do not use noisy devices that might disturb other bathers peace. Deposit waste and bottles in authorized places. Camping is prohibited. Non-authorized cars are not allowed. Do not use soap in outdoor showers. It is forbidden to make fires or bonfires without the City Council authorization. Pets are not allowed on the beaches. Games or sport activities which could disturb or be a physical danger for people are forbidden on the beaches. Practise them in proper places. Itinerant trade is forbidden. It is not allowed to sail within the bathing zone limits, at less than 50 meters from other boats or at less than 200 meters away from non buoyed beaches. Do not sail without lifejacket. It is forbidden to use sea scooters without driving license, registration number or third-party insurance. Bathing and swimming is prohibited with red flag. Bathers and leisure crafts users should pay attention to the lifeguards instructions and the signal flags. 2

OBJECTIVES FOR 2016 1.. Expand lifeguards template with 4 more lifeguards 2. Install new wooden benches every 50m. on the seafront of Poniente Almerimar 3. Doubling the number of amphibious chairs in the defendants accessible points (Balerma and Levante). 4. Renew 14 showers in stainless steel in Balerma. 5. Install 3 toilets more on the beaches of Balerma. 6. Expand the visual range of two rescue towers in San Miguel and Poniente Almerimar 7. Make three environmental activities per month. OBJECTIVES 2015 RESULTS 2015 1. Improve the whole services area and first Lifesaving Aid. 2. Twice as many police officers have been deployed in the costal area. 3. Tripling the tourist information in coastal communities. 4. Accesible create a 2nd point in Balerma and Levante. 5. Recovery of coastal and environment front in Levante beach and Balerma. Expand service in 1 hour and a half. Change salvage materials by other more effective and safer, lowering response times. Creating the web of Civil Protection with beaches all data in real time. A 2nd point in Balerma adapted to all services accessible is created, (toilet, shower, shade, water chair, assisted parking and bathroom). And in Levante, a third shower adapted as user demand is installed, as they are the busiest accessible points of our beaches. At the moment, they have built two dams in Levante to avoid the back of the sand from the beach, extending the bathing area the user and being the remotest from abrasion of the shore showers. Balerma, it remains within the next plan of action. 6. Improving secondary Access Improving secondary Access. Installing gateways in 90% of the secondary accesses. ENVIRONMENTAL FEATURES 2015 The construction of two dams in Almerimar Levante has contributed considerably to widen the range of bathroom. Also, the promanade and the showers are more removed from the negative effects of the tides. Cleaning campaigns, activities and information dissemination on the Natural Park of Punta Entinas Sabinar, is reflected in an almost zero "complaints / suggestions" in the polls index. Thanks to Plan Cleaning, Maintenance and Refuse Collection Town Hall, the beaches are in excellent quality (as reflected in surveys users, reaching more than 70% satisfaction), both on the surface of the sand as within the water, so that aspects can be significant as the generation of organic and inorganic residues possess no environmental impact. The results of analyzes on bathing water exceeded the levels established by Royal Decree 734/88, describing the Andalusian of "Excellent". HYGIENIC-SANITARY FEATURES IN 2015 Risks such as food infections, water pollution, facilities in disrepair or presence of hazardous waste have not been contemplated. High levels of sun radiation between 12:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. CERRILLOS BEACH Quiet beach, situated in the Nature Reserve of Punta Entinas Sabinar, without any construction or service. It borders on the municipal district of Roquetas de Mar. LEVANTE BEACH Equipped with all kind of infrastructures and services, this beach has been receiving year after year the Blue Flag emblem and achieving the Q de Calidad Turística certification since 2008. It lies between the Punta Entinas Beach and the Marina of Almerimar. Half of the beach is included in the Nature Reserve, where legislation does not permit to offer the same services as on the rest of the beach. PONIENTE BEACH This 1,950 meters long beach, lying between the Marina of Almerimar and the last car park on the Avenida del Mar, has been receiving year after year the Blue Flag emblem and achieving the Q de Calidad Turística certification since 2008. Its characteristics, services and equipment are similar to the ones of the Levante Beach. A cycle track runs along the promenade. PLAYA DE SAN MIGUEL With 2,200 meters and a low level of occupation, this beach is notable for its dune landscape and its quietness. Lying between the last car park on the Avenida del Mar and the end of the Lake Victoria, it is equipped with all kind of infrastructures and services. The promenade is also provided with a cycle track. The beach has been achieving the Q de Calidad Turística certification since 2009 and the Blue Flag. GUARDIAS VIEJAS BEACH Lying at the foot of the Castle of Guardias Viejas, it includes the Baños and the Piedra del Moro beaches. It is located between the end of the San Miguel Beach and the next village of Balerma. Quiet beach, with a low level of occupation, ideal for surfing. It offers services like toilets, lifesaving service, showers, bathing zone limits, cleaning service, bus service or notice board BALERMA BEACH Last beach of the municipal district of El Ejido, lying between the Guardias Viejas Beach and the end of the village of Balerma, it is equipped with all kind of infrastructures and services. The beach has been achieving the Q de Calidad Turística certification since 2009 and the Blue Flag. Its characteristics and the services it offers are similar to the ones of the Poniente, Levante and San Miguel beaches. 6
