NEWSLETTER April. 2016 2004 VICE PRESIDENT S NOTES Well our leader is out again. And I will try to stand in for him. We have had beautiful weather and several things going on. We had great turnouts for our activities. I guess everyone is tired of the winter blues. We need to thank our Activity Directors, Mark & Don, for the great job they are doing with the activities and our upcoming car show. MARK KIDD, DON WEBER

AC TIV AT EE RE PORT By Mark Kidd Howdy LARC Members, Hope everyone had a great Easter, It's time for the Newsletter to be written and edited As Mr. Frank C. is the Editor any mistakes on my part is his fault...isn't that rite Frank??? Oh, Sorry... What Already Happened We had a real nice meeting on the 8th. of March, A lot of items were passed around, also the treats were delicious... The 1st. activity was the Johnson City Car Show won by our own DD PELLAM, Give a big hand to DD cuz he really deserved the win, (especially after all that money he paid out for votes ).Just kiddin, He didn't spend all that much????? The next activity was the 2nd. greatest Car Show that we are involved with., The Hamilton Car Show. It started out at Don & Cleora Craw's house, with about 18 cars leaving at 8:am, Don C. said we should have left at 7:30 and he was correct, when we got there our usual place by the trees and shade was full so don t under-estimate the intelligence of your slightly more mature friends...we picked up 4 or 5 more club members. As usual there were lots of real nice vehicles, and the food was yummy brisket, ham, sausage links 2 kinds of beans, tater salad and all the trimmins and cake.. Our club kicked some Booty Butt on door prizes. I don't remember every thing that the club won but some were, a new battery, floor covering for sound and heat, cleaning and waxing items and the most important was the proverbial hard to win Brand New, Never Used, 4 Tires!!!! yup folks Mr. Dave Johnson won and he had a trailer to put them in so he didn't even have to beg anyone to pack em home... Good for you Dave. When the awards were givin out, LARC got a bunch, the winners were, in no particular order: Fred French, Don Webber, Jim Rugg, DD Pellam, Jim Eplen, Vee Brown,Tom Anderson...Bob Brown was lamenting to whomever would listen that he needed a new paint job for Vee's Hot Rod then won a award for best paint..huh, what, whoda thunk...i guess I should tell about taking the long way to the Car Show and pointing out that if we had taken the short way in, that we would not have seen the Off-Road Trail and the Hamilton Dog Attack team at work?????????? ya had to be there, that's all I'm sayin bout that!! What s Goin to Happen April 1st. 5 pm is Friday Night Fever at Cecil's, Dinner at Mama's tween 3:30 an 4:pm. Me an Cyndy may be a little late cause we're having a Garage Sale an iffen there's tons a people still there tryin to buy our sh.t, I mean our --- ( ya can't do without this, so buy it cheep items.) Then we have our Meeting on the 12th. of April at the Marble Falls Library at 7:pm... Sat.April 2nd. There's a Cruise In at Top Notch Burgers on 7525 Burnet Rd, Austin 71 cars or older but I say cruise what ya use, it's a good event... Sunday April 3rd. is the Leander Cruise in 10am -1pm... Lone Star Roundup is April 8th. and 9th. at the Travis County Expo center... 2

April 16th. is the Stephanie Myers Plane and Car Show in San Marcos at the airport, Reg. is from 10:30-12:30 I think that's enough to keep us busy, so I love ya all, Ta Ta for now. EDITOR S CORNER To cut down on confusion by yours truly, stories must be submitted either as a text file (.txt) or as a word document (.doc). Pdf files won t work. Pictures must be submitted as a.jpg or.bmp. The.pdf type of file doesn t come across well as it has to be done as a screen capture and a lot of good detail gets lost. If the registration form makes it into this issue of the newsletter, it will be of lesser quality than was on the.pdf that was submitted. Thanks for your help. (Your editor needs all the help he can get). HEY FOLKS! LET S GET GOIN ON HELPING MARK AND DON ROUND UP SOME DOOR PRIZES FOR OUR CAR SHOW. LET S NOT LET JUST A COUPLE OF FOLKS DO ALL THE WORK. Contact Don or Mark to find out who not to call on. They have rounded up some great prizes, and we don t want to hit the same folks twice. Who can call on restaurants in Granite Shoals or Kingsland, or Marble Falls? Gift certificates for meals are great prizes. 3
